You asked for thoughts. I gave mine. Unlike your assumption about my life, I have no fault in people donating and have done so many times myself over the years to religious organizations. I know a lot of churches that do good work and deserve to be supported for their effort. During the hurricane, they were instrumental in making sure people ate and had clean water, etc.
I think there are appropriate venues for church and religious fund raising. I don't believe a business entity in an international community is one such place. Especially after the other thread's arguments and degradations into the "anti-christian" thing. To me, it doesn't matter which religion it is.
But that's my opinion. This is not my system. I think if you want to get your organization on the "list", you should apply for a ribbon as other's have and let RJ and the gang decide what's right for them. Not only to decide what's appropriate, but whether said charity is validated to accept such donations. Which will give credibility to both. I frankly wouldn't donate just because you say it's a great charity...
To me, the idea of donating a percentage of NP$ to ribbon charities is a darn good idea and I support that and if RJ and the gang think that your charity is such, then all the power to ya...
