Corporate Logo Design - wins $10, $15 and up

Hi guys, I am roping in some talent for a simple logo design...

Prize is based on total number of entries received:
1-3 entries, best entry enjoys 100$NP participation prize
4-8 entries, winner earns US$10
>8 entries, winner earns US$15

If I decide to use more than 1 entry, the winner will earn $10 or $15 according to the above schedule, and the runner(s)-up will earn $5 each; there is no limit to the number of prizes that each contestant may win; payments through Paypal; contest ends on 30/10/2005 at 2300hrs EST and results will be announced immediately or latest by 31/10/2005 at 1200hrs; contestants may submit as many competing entries as they wish, but please be reasonable and not simply bump up the total submissions by submitting sub-standard designs with the aim of earning the $15 prize

Every entry must consist of two items: ONE logo and ONE icon

Logo requirements:
(1) Must incorporate the phrase "...", with emphasis on "..." eg. through larger font or clearer definition, etc
(2) Should create the idea of a "...", eg via two arrows, two connecting iron plates, global integration etc NOT human images or handshaking, however
(3) Preferably play around creatively with the X in "..."
(4) Shape-wise, a rectangular is preferred to a strict square
(5) Color palette largely up to the contestants, but no "kiddie" colors and fluorescents please
(6) Sleek, sharp and futuristic design preferred
(7) No images of flora and fauna please
(8) Unflattened .PSD format preferred

Icon requirements:
(1) The icon is simply a smaller and WORD-FREE "light" version of the main logo
(2) Should be a SQUARE as much as possible, whilst maintaining strong semblance of the logo
(3) Unflattened .PSD format preferred

9/26/05: New Rule - Prize must be clearly defined ahead of time. It is only fair to the designers to know upfront what the prize will be.

I think this means there must be a solid prives, instead of a "maybe", but im not sure. Would be helpful if a mod could confirm this.

my entry, please let me know if you require additional changes, anything can be changed, or if you want the arrows going another direction, ect...

also, you didnt specify any sizes, those can be changed as well, but since you will have the psd, that will not matter.

i have submitted several variations, some different colors on different backgrounds, the white tips on the X's will not be there.

Thank you for your submission. I like the way you emphasised the X.
However, as this is for corporate use (as opposed to a gaming/art site), do you think you could produce a more serious looking logo with a succinct design and clean font?

Hmmm... I fail to recognise any idea of connectivity in the logo. Maybe I will go take a harder look at it...
