I am having some problems with my websites, they are maxxing out their connections. They are not very high traffic sites and the hosting company is claiming that I am using too many connections.

There are 4 scripts on the account. 3 Wrodpress blogs and one PHPNUKE site. The PHPNUKE site is the pre-modded PNP verison

Does anyone know if there is anything that I can do to lessen my load on the server? Or do you think that the hosting company is talking out their behinds?

BTW when I say low traffic I mean a total of 500 hits a day combined.

If any of the scripts you're using have an option for using "persistant connections", turn that feature off.

By the way, the number of connections is set for the entire server and not likely to just your account. If you're only getting that small amount of traffic, its more likely that there is another account on the same hosting server that is hogging all the MySQL connections, such as a vBulletin forum with persistant connections enabled.

500 visits a day is a very light load for MySQL. Change hosts, imho.

Thanks, I will check to see for the persistent connections option. The problem just started again,

And about the hosts, I JUST changed host and would rather not go through it again. I hope I can get it fixed.

I will let you know how it goes

There were NO persistent connections options that I could see. And it seemed like it would dissconnect from the database after each query, or at least the majority of them

Is there any better ways to connect? I hear pconnect was supposed to be better?
