Connect the Dots Contest!!!

Here's a cool contest for everyone to think hard and enjoy!!

Study the attached image ....

Here are 9 dots arranged in 3X3 .

:: Be sure to read carefully the MECHANICS and RULES

MECHANICS :

1. To join you should send over your CONTEST FEE (which covers the prizes and of course the idea of the contest)
2. CONTEST FEE is just 10 $Np per entry. You may send more than 1 entry. So if you have 2 entries you should send 20 $Np.
3. Trace these dots in a piece of paper
4. By using a pencil draw the MINIMUM or LEAST number of LINES you need to connect these dots WITHOUT lifting the pencil.
5. Then using an image editing tool such as PaintBrush, copy what you have done on paper and save it as JPG or GIF
6. Then send me your CONTEST FEE worth 10 $Np per entry and PM me the following:
a) the LEAST number of lines you believe will connect all the dots WITHOUT lifting the pencil
b) and the Image (JPG or GIF of your work
7. This contest will end on December 20 2004
8. Prize : 50% of TOTAL $NP accumulated until the end of contest will be awarded to the FIRST ONE who sends the correct answer . . Of course the other 50% will go to my account to fund for future contests.
9. Entry will be considered a winning entry if it CLEARLY SHOWS or PROVES the exact solution predetermined by me.
10. The Winner will be awarded at the end of contest PLUS Public Announcement at Contest Forum.
11. SECOND and THIRD correct entries will also be acknowleged


RULES :

1. You MUST PM me your entries to protect the privacy of your solution. Otherwise it will be ignored or considered invalid
2. Entries will be considered INVALID if you will not send over your CONTEST FEE with your entries.
3. Any member can send in as many entries as they want. But each entry is worth 10 $Np.
4. No cheating allowed
5. Images should include the original position of the dots plus the lines you have drawn
6. You may include an explanation of your answer with your entry.

Amendment to the RULE :

I'l try to rephrase it..

Its just simple.. You just connect every dot with continuous lines until all the dots are connected..

An example would be :

Yes you should not lift your pencil when connecting the dots.. you draw the lines continuously .. Then your answer should be the number of lines you made.

What happened to rule 9?
And if The Pot from this contest is paying (50% of it) for the prize.. why do you need 50% to fund future prizes?? this one did not cost a thing?? (G)..

regarding your question , I will be funding more contest after this. Some wont require a single NP$ to join so that's why Im accumulating the funds for it.
