$90 to $299 = Reseller Value Speculation (NOT an end user speculation)

I generally only do Professional Appraisals in my spare time, as they can take a while each to do. I try to do 1 to 2 per day in the order they are received, so it can sometimes take a while to get to new appraisal requests.

For instance, right now there's 9 waiting in the hopper and I'm about to start fleshing one out.

Professional Appraisals are available to VIPs, PROs, and Gold members. As a VIP @mdent can start a new appraisal over there and as soon as I get caught up with the ones prior to his submission, I'll take a look at it.

It might be a couple days though.

Thanks for thinking of me ;)

You’re my #1 pick, Eric.
This is a success since your reply, yet alone participation is not guaranteed.

I get it!
i’m just a sucker for 1 word domains; & enjoy your work.

Yep. Domains with -ing usually have limited use and are less attractive to both resellers and end-users, however sometimes the -ing works almost as well as the root form, and I was thinking this might be one of those rare cases :)

I was wondering how you guys would price this to end-users? What are some possible use cases you can come up with? I have some ideas but I don't want to influence the discussion :) Any thoughts are welcome

Thanks Eric, I rarely post anything for appraisal, I never noticed there were separate sections.

From a non-English speaker: I think gerunds are in principles the more valuable the more they are used as nomen as well, e.g. earning and writing are more valuable than buying and sleeping because the use of the former two as nomen is more widespread than the use as nomen of the latter two.
For example, the former ones are used in plural too (earnings and writings), not so for the latter ones.

I see in a online dictionary that confiding - beside being the gerund form of to confide - in English is not used as nomen but rather as adjective. This is probably a minus?

When I put confiding in google I get these pictures

It looks like a keyword in the personal relations field, i.e. this domain seems to have a potential very wide usage for social relations related businesses.

Yes! This is exactly what i was thinking.
But you’ve broadened my perspective further. I was thinking Therapy such as: ”BetterHelp.com” Or Lawyers. You can trust confiding anything to a Lawyer.

@Peter45 Kate Buckley sold Sleeping.com for $500,000 (alongside Snoring.com that sold for the same price) so Sleeping isn't a good example. Sleep related products (beds, mattresses etc.) and sleep related problems (like snoring or products that help people sleep) are money makers, that's why Sleeping.com and Snoring.com sold for so much. Some gerunds, especially ones that can be directly related to something commercial, can fetch great prices. Confiding isn't an obvious word for commercial purposes. Confide on the other hand is much better as a brand name and has a bunch of trademarks and a bunch of existing companies using the name. There's one company called Confiding listed at OpenCorporates.com and they provide counselling services (launched in 2022). No US trademarks for Confiding. Personally I would price it for around $10K. Listing it on a brandable marketplace might be helpful in order to present it in an appealing way.

@Samer Confiding can certainly work with the right presentation for different things. Law can be a good use case, though Confiding isn't an obvious name for a law firm. Usually it's something that ends with 'Law', 'Lawyer', 'Lawyers', 'Attorney', 'Attorneys' and prior to that the name of the lawyer or lawyers or a noun. Either way, the word Confiding isn't as commercially oriented as Sleeping. If it were an obvious word, there would be trademarks and many companies already using it. But that end user I mentioned might be interested in upgrading (they have a live site) and somebody else might too. As long as the price is reasonable. I don't see somebody dumping much more than $10K on it.

To be honest, the first mental image that came up to me while pondering about confiding was something on the line of this

but I quickly realized that the sacrament of confession is hardly a business field domainers could have an interest in targeting :xf.smile:
