domain CompareEm.com - Appraisal Please

I was just wondering what you think the domain is worth and if I should develop it? If I do develop it what should it contain?

The pitfall with this name is that anyone wanting to return to your site is going to type in comparethem(dot)com.

The easiest thing to do is to send a well-worded sales letter to 'comparethem' and see if they are interested in buying the name for fifty bucks.

You can tell them that since thier already selling comparethem, they can market both names for more money as a package deal.

I own CompareWithUs.com - I think you should look at a name like this instead of what you have.

Im not selling this name but believe its more brandable and easy to remember less typo issue as compareem.com

I thought of the pitfall you mentioned regarding CompareThem(dot)com. CompareEm just seemed easy to remember in my eyes. Should I try to sell this quick and painless or try to develop it?

In response to CompareWithUs, I was always under the impression that shorter was better. That was why I took the "Em" approach. However I am very new to this domain world so every reponse helps.

Normally shorter domains are better than longer domains but you dont want to own a name that people can mistype. As you are in your early days take it as a lesson you still have a nice name I see that CompareThem.com is owned by MostWantedDomains.com - Drop them an email [email protected] and they might pick it up from you!

I wouldnt develop CompareEm.com unless you buy CompareThem.com from MostWanted.

Do you have experiance in developing etc?

I am actually a little confused as what people mean when they "develop the site." Does it mean to develop a full blown working site. Or perhaps just put some relevant links, articles, etc on the site?

Usually when people say developed they mean a built site (coded) branded and marketed to some point

Either build a mini site or a fully developed site basically just dont park it or redirect it.
