What is the common size to design a template for a website. I am thinking 775 is the current width, but how about the height?

Any help would be great.

If you design 800x600 it doesn't view right same with 1024x768. It will have scroll bars.

If I were to design a layout that was 800x600 if I view it in 800x600 it would have scroll bars on the width. For some reason, I think because of the scroll bar on the right and the trim on the left, it will scroll to the right.

That is what I am trying to figure out. I think the width is like 775 but I am not sure about that. Hmmm, I really want to know now, it is bugging me.

760px by 540px will fit perfectly on any res.

775 would be way too close to the edge, you'd be surprised how much little space is left when using 760px.

That's not my website, my site is under my name.

Use the measurements I mentioned before combined with percentages to make a site fit on most window sizes.
