.COM / .NET Verisign Extended System Maintenance

We have recently been advised by Verisign that the .COM / .NET registry is scheduled for extended system maintenance on Saturday, 25th June 2005, between the hours 21:00 and 09:00 26th June, 2005 Registry Time.

We would advise against attempting to transfer/renew or register .COM / .NET domain names during this time.

Please be aware .COM / .NET domain names will continue to resolve normally.

Actually you might be able to, but it'll be queued. So as Mike said, better to
hold it off until the maintenance is completed.

Note the purpose stated. Simply put, registrars can use the existing RRP or
eventually use the EPP channel when processing especially transfer requests
for .com and .net domains.

it appears to me that they are now back up. well, i haven't tried reging a domain name but i can change the nameservers of a .com i have and i couldn't do that before
