Hi Guys,

If you purchase on the aftermarket the .com and the net / org are available to hand reg , is it wise to secure them, or does this not matter to the potential future buyer of your .com ?

Thanks

it really depends on the name/niche/your end-users i believe.. but basically you dont need to average down your potential ROI by investing in lower value xtensions if you already got the strongest.. imho

..or unless you're developing

If I'm buying to resell? I'd stick with the .com.

If I'm buying to develop a website? I'll grab the .net/org also, and possibly some of the country extensions.

What If I buy to resell and the person who is buying wants to develop, then buying all 3 would make sense?

:talk:

if the buyer wants to develop, maybe they only care about .com

also, you're not going to get much more for the package, than the .com alone

I don't think a 'bundle' is a strong selling point. If the .com is taken, the person might check the .net then the .org because they prefer to get a domain for regfee, but you grabbed them all. So it's most likely the person will move on and find another domain.

.net/.org/.etc: only for defensive registrations, when I'm building a brand as an end user.

There may be exceptions of course, especially if you feel like you might be using the domains at some point, if they don't sell.

Likewise, I have bought domains in singular and plural form, sold the singular then the plural became useless. It didn't provide much leverage I think.
