Hey mates, sorry if I've been sending in a lot of appraisal requests lately. Been working heavily on building up my domain portfolio. Looking to add so many domain names which I think have future value. I'd like to know what you think is a good price for Cockroach.co since I have plans of making an offer to the owner.
I'd really appreciate your contributions, thank you.

Just sold cubit.co for $299 - hand reg a year or so back. So I'll value cockroach.co for just about the same price, if not less. That's my opinion anyway.

@Josytal Thank you! May I know the website where you sold your domain name?

To start with, I list my domains on several platforms - Sedo, Undeveloped, Flippa, Godaddy and a couple of other less popular ones. Most importantly, I have a dedicated website for my whole portfolio, with each domain having it's landing page, short description and facts sheet.
So leads could've come from just anywhere.

Offers for cubit.co came from two different platforms : Undeveloped and Godaddy. Consequently, cubit.co was sold on GoDaddy for $299, being the highest I could negotiate. I'm still learning.

If you have a budget for buying names from owners I think you should raise the bar significantly. Buy a .com or at least a very solid extension. Why settle for a .co ?
I don't like the name cockroach because it is negative, I can't see a real, self-respecting business using that name. The only realistic option might be for a pest control service but I think they have better options if they are even willing to buy on the aftermarket. It's not the greatest keyword I can think of...

I would even advise against building a domain portfolio. You don't want to end up buying dozens or hundreds of poor names that won't sell and cost a lot in renewal fees. Own just a few, but high-quality ones.

Why settle for a .co ?
Because great names are still available at reg fees.
This year alone, I've had over 25 offers for my .co domains, this is without any hyper-active promotions or something. As a rule, I don't respond to low-ball offers (anything less than $200).

I sold yowl.co for $999, also sold 6 other co domains for $499 each, including fzr.co - all hand reg. These are raw facts.

So my advice : if you must buy .co extensions, then buy short, dictionary word names or 3-letter acronyms. Lower your expectations, price wise.
