Where is the best place to lookup whois info for .CO.UK domains?

Yeah, I found that one and http://whois.xreg.co.uk/ on Yahoo but it doesn't show addresses and names.

Does the .CO.UK registry not give out this information?

A private individual can opt out of having their address displayed.

I regged a .co.UK before at GD and I do not remember having the option to opt out nor did I buy whois protection. Which .co.uk regs offer this option?

I just use the register www.123-reg.co.uk

Just put in the domain as if you want to register it and if it is taken it will show a whois link which you can get info from.

It's a standard option, and should not be registrar specific.

Privacy should be op-out not opt-in.

"They" are not greedy pigs. They are simply trying to make a comfortable living. The domain industry is vicious and saturated. I will gladlypay to "opt out". It gives me ebenfits.

And BTW, getting whois protection does not reduce the amount of info sent to the whois servers, it merely replaces the info that would normally there. Well, that 's the way most extensions I made are. Not sure about .co.uk.
