Every once in a while I send a tweet to the .co registry asking them to lower the regular .co reg fee to $10 to $15 range. They have over 2 million domains registered now, reg fee shouldn't be as high as it is.

The business model for .CO is to have high renewal fees. Use it or lose it. :)

A lower reg fee should be manageable for dotco given they are over 2 million in registrations. It would make them more competitive with other extensions and encourage more renewals. They should be getting pressure to do this.

Anything new in .co land over the past 2 days?

Registered some cool chip combos such as c88c.co... and all other available chips in the same pattern.

I see there are some CHIPs that went into closeout auction. I think it's "our" fault (our = domainers on forum like this)
If someone can buy LLLL.co for $10, including names with patterns, they are less willing to pay full price for random letters at expiring auction.
And of course people here will not rise their prices if they don't see big sales. A bit of a viscous circle.
I dumped enough to break even already so I'm not in a hurry.

HCI.co sold at Sedo this month for $3,600.

I'm a bit concerned that 4n & 5n dot co will not rise in value much above reg fee unless there isd a major purchase to kickstart it off.

I've been contacted on a few of my 5n but anytime I countered no response so I'm considering selling lower than I hoped for in these it looks like.

With so many to choose from buyers are few and far between

Are you talking 4N, 5N or 4L, 5L?

Selling NNNN.co isn't too hard, they are in demand.

LLLL.co still has CVCV and chips at BIN on Godaddy closeouts. Not many but there are some when I checked today. Also some expiring that you can bid on. The LLLL.co Chips just sold out so if there is strength any drops, etc. will start getting cleaned up. I don't think the strength is great yet unless you have a special LLLL with a pattern or letters that mean something. It will take more time if it holds.

Also haven't seen much action on NNNNN.co chips, unless it's a special pattern or repeating numbers.

I'm looking at 5N.co with "0" and without "4"

less than a week ago there were ~29% domains taken
righ now ~35% domains taken.

so somebody registering them with no $1 promotions now.

I said 4n & 5n but 4n may have better sales for sure however I'm a bit wary now on potential for 5n co sales .

I'm sure a lot will drop in fall due to NC dot co reg fee sale but I'm hoping a few 5n will sell in time.

I have seen only a few 5n actually sell so far but I may be just playing devils advocate here.

I want 5n to be a player but I'm afraid the market may not support this many numerics in this extension.

I predict .co will go to .cc levels.
cc - only chinese extension, .co - may be used worldwide.

Agreed. It looks like com, even better. But, still way to go...

Well I like your thought process but who worldwide wants numerics like the Chinese?

Seems to me that the Asian invasion bubble will bursteventually and a ton of numerics in any ext but com will drop .

The market wants certain numbers in certain extensions. Im not saying 5n dot co won't sell its the demand for how many and what numerics is the concern of course.

Unless someone is specifically looking for some numeric that's one thing but to buy a load of random numerics as an investment in an extension like co or xyz or cc is gambling.

I want it to succeed I'm just concerned that it won't be as fruitful as I envisioned in the fall.

If 5N.com, .net and .cc hold up in price, I think 5N.co will come along too, especially those without 4 or 0.

5N has only 33,000 potential Chip combinations, in any extension. After .com, I think .co can be one of the most in demand extensions for short domains, along with .net, .cc and others. To me it's better than .xyz, .top, and others like that. It hasn't been long since the 5N.co chips were bought out.

Look at LLLL.co last week, tens of thousands registered in days. I think there is growing interest in .co

Sounds good but not sure why evertime I see a post on numerics it says they should do well but without zero ??

Where did the issue of zero being a negative number start? Domainers !!

Its simply untrue imo that zero is a bad number to own in a sequence.

BTW what exactly do u describe a numeric chip domain? I read so much on this but no one can simply explain a numeric chip. Plus who came up with these designations anyhow?

Only until Chinese interest in numerics began has the designation "chip" come to the forefront in numerics.

I didn't invent the rules. It's just the way it is right now, but keep in mind there are always exceptions. Generally for numeric domains, the ones with 4 have lowest price, then 0. The 5N.com with a 4 or 0 most often sell for less than those without, unless there are patterns, 8's, or other factors that help bring up the price.

For .co, we don't even see the 5N.co without 4 or 0 selling regularly yet. I have sold a few 5N.co for low $xxx but those had lots of repeating numbers so were very premium in my mind.

For comparison to .cc there is a wanted thread here on NP offering $50 to $100 for LLLL.cc and $300 to $1000 for NNNN.cc
Would be nice to see .co get there, .cc hardly even gets any promotion.
