Since it is that time of year (tax time ), I would be interested in knowing if you have a profit or loss for the 2011 year Emjohn. Do you have your registration fees and domain sale numbers figured out yet? Would you also share the number of .co domains you currently have registered, or if you have your list posted for sale somewhere, I would be interested in checking it out. Thanks!

I personally didn't get in at the time all the great names were being aquired, have only a few that I will someday develop  and my last name, so nothing to boast about here.

I have made a whole heck of a lot more money in the .co extension than I have spent in registrations. It DOES have to do with excellent keywords and not being greedy. It's about understanding what the market is at.

My ROI with .co has been 10x to 100X.

How about some examples of these great sales?

Unless you can verify what you are saying, it is just bloviating on an internet forum.

Let me guess they are all subject to non-disclosure agreements...

but how many .co's have you bought at any of the premium auctions that you can share?

There have been many sales at auctions that received comments such as:

"had I seen them I may have bid" and "buyer got a bargain"

Hope this clears things up. There's no pumping just undeniable opportunities that weren't right from a timing point of view :)

I purged about 35+ .co names from my portfolio earlier this year during renewals. Largest .co sale to date has been $1500. I've sold one for $800, and a couple (mbas, customgraphics) for $60, but nothing less than that.

The drops were significant, but I considered much of the .co purchasing as an experiment, and knew that going in. I've dropped a lot of non-co names since then, and have been focusing on better acquisitions (two-word .coms & one-word .TVs).

I've turned down most of the .CO offers that have come in for quality keywords - most recently a second offer on Perfumeria (both offers have been from Spain).

The name I had at auction was picked up on the drop and sold for a profit. Nothing to exclaim about, but not a total loss, either.

I'm still convinced some of my keyword names will sell, but admittedly, I'm focusing my efforts on development and some of my .com purchases now.

My best sale has been for $2600. That was a few months ago in a private sale. My most recent sale was GSG.co. I have sold 8-10 other ones in the range of xxx-xxxx. All high-level keywords. I have sold nothing less than $250.

In fact I have to admit that I've left a lot of money on the table with .co, but that's how it goes sometimes...

Childish person, did you even remember to read the end of the sentence? Or perhaps you misread it. You have quite a happen of taking things out of context to suit your needs.

That really borders on trolling. Didn't your mom ever tell you it was wrong to take things out of context and put a spin on it?:td:

To all you trollers out there.... get a life...

And who said blatant endless pumping didn't work? lol :bingo:

What a hypocritical statement. Especially for one who doesn't like to disclose their own sales, in most cases (I notice there are more "solds" on Datacube.com than actual numbers). Buddy, your the pot calling the kettle black.

I won't be taunted into divulging numbers. I divulge only the ones I can and because I want to. This seems more like a game of naner-naner-naner people are trying to play. Very unprofessional. No wonder most domainers are black-balled as being cybersquatters...

To "bloviate" is to speak pompously. I think you've misused this word egregiously. Take a look at your own prose if you want to find what's bombastic....

A third-class word picked for "re-purposing", well done...

I've left a lot of money on the table with .co

From my own personal experience with this profession, I have found that this is not a good strategy; especially when dealing with high-risk low-reward ccTLDs like .CO. IMO.

If I had really wanted to "squeeze" it, I could have, but that's the risky part.

.co is not any other extension, mind you that...

Whats the average price of LLL.co guys? Word and non-word. Just to make an idea.

There's money to be made in almost every extension under the sun if you don't get taken in by the hype and get also ran keywords.

In 2011 I made a profit in .co, .tv, .in, heck even .ag, it's just about how you play the game.

My returns from .co are over 1000%, all reported including the biggest one at 5k in DNJournal.

But I kept it real, I got only the best I could at the lowest prices possible.

Only way to make money in this business, buy low, sell high.

I still own some excellent .co, which I'm sure will get me a decent ROI as well - Multiplex.Co, Shrimp.Co, Prawn.Co, Quarry.Co, Diam.Co, iDot.Co, YPO.Co, Maha.Co, Boto.Co, Saso.Co & AAY.Co.

/\ Exactly (skip one post)

You need:
1 Bomb keywords
2 Get in them low
3 Sell only to endusers
4 Dont aquire more than your willing to renew

Another way to make money in this business it to remove all ethics, morals and screw people.

This sometimes seems easier (and more prevalent)

I just recently tried this "buy low and sell high" method and it seems to be working. Don't know why in the World I waited so long to try it out.

It sure beats screwing people and pumping forums.

Then don't pump, buddy, don't pump! Getting everyone to register 4 word .com. Well, what is that?

Just a feckless pumper, that;s all....

.CO Sales

I've had spotty results with my .co's. I first sold bluemountaincoffee.co for $750, then I sold cnp.co for $350. I now have received an offer of $1100 for skivacations.co.....trying to decide to counter or go through sedo auction.....any advice? Thanks.

If $1100 isnt enough for skivacations.co then counter in my opinion

Buylowsellhigh.com registered since 1996. Must be a good reason why...

Thanks Keith, you've convinced me, I will now start registering 4 word .coms. I'm sure there are plenty of good ones like buylowsellhigh.com

I agree 101% with Samit's words! We can make money in any TLD as long as we steer clear of hype and fads (we have them in any extension including .com - the LLLL.com one of 2009-2010 is an example).
