This could truly be a big competitor to .COM (especially being a "typo").
I would say with proper guidance .CO could REALLY have a bright future!

I have to agree - I wouldn't waste my money on names that are not short / premium.

The BoatStore/CanoeStore might sell but you will have to spend some time on outbound marketing. And expect the conversation to go something like this:

- would you be interested in BoatStore.co?
- you mean BoatStore.com? How much?
- no, .co - it's a Colombian domain but it can also be used as general extension.
- what? I'm from xxxxxx not Colombia.
- like I've said, it's popular among startups and became alternative to .com blah blah blah (more explanation)
- well it will be too confusing to my visitors so I think I'll pass.

This is why I don't do any outbound marketing. I just wait for the buyers who already know about .co.
And even they use it against me - "well, I can't pay more than $100 since its not a .com"

I did outbound marketing for 2 names and one of them was SummerTime dot co. I had some interest but was only willing to pay low $$$. I think it is worth more then that. I sold one .co on Afternic for $299.

Yeah I would expect more for that too, but I guess you need to be more patient to get a decent price for the .Co names.

I have Licorice in .Co but I'm hard pressed to come up with reasons why end users would want it.

I was just on namebio now and it looks like the main sales were in godaddy for the past few weeks, cant really tell you anymore than that. Im a noob so if anyone else might know feel free to say.
