So cherry pick?
Use the multiple for names I don't like?

;)

I think you will find the multiple will bring you success. I'm running it on some .COM names now and it's surprisingly accurate when using the .COM as the basis.

A couple of times I've had to move the decimal of the .CO one place to the left.

It doesn't work both ways because 99% of the time the .com a a prime keyword .co is not likely to even be for sale; however, a valuable .com is likely to be on offer in the .co and should be some factors of value yes. Also the .com has an established market and thus a better price understanding and better basis.

If you want a more accurate function you'll have to find a statistician to bring these additional factors into play :)

So again I guess these were just a bunch of blips or an exception the multiple rule.

childcare.co - $14,000
forex.co - $40,000
mirror.co - $11,000
easy.co - $10,500
fx.co - $50,000
sugar.co - $30,000
cinema.co - $13,068
farm.co - $8000
engineering.co - $13,000
aff.co - $7000

:)

Wow aff.co for $7000?
I got a few short .Co's I wished it went for that high.

TBH.co is on sale on Sedo for $1500 atm. (Not mine). Seems like the .Co's are doing quite well.

- TBH.co @ $1,500

Or the 0.1 multiplier rule is now outdated for single .co keywords, it sure looks that way to me. imho

You're using it in reverse. And the multiplier is ".001" not ".1" (eg. Defiance.co = $90).

for what it's worth, Valuate says:

Defiance.co $1500
Gamez.co $85

anyone have thoughs about which is better value .us or .co ?

I have to buy a real estate related domain for a client (for development) and .com and .net are taken so - for example BostonForeclosure.us or .co ?? Which would you choose??

If those are the only options, I would rather have a GEO related term in the native ccTLD vs. .CO personally.

In my opinion, this is akin to choosing between a firing squad and the electric chair. I strongly suggest working diligently to secure a .COM domain and abandoning the idea of using either of those extensions.

RE: the other .co thread

Archangel said:
I can't recall the .mobi "craze" lasting a year. I sold a LLL.mobi for maybe $150. But in about a year, LLL.mobi's were avail for hand reg. .co's been around & kept value longer than .mobi had.

Speculation: You are THINKING this is a bad bet with no proof--only speculation ie "the past" with other extensions. You haven't any proof to back it up, thus it's an opinion nd not fact that .co is a bad investment. ppl used to think verb.me's were pretty stupid & thought they were "bad investments." Try to buy a verb.me these days for reg fee, aside frm long, obscure verbs. This is all speculation from all sides. No one knows how .co will end, even if some ppl ie you have assumptions.

Your ideas are kinda scary. I'd believe you, if I only had $20 a year to set aside. Is there anything wrong with setting aside say, $80? Would it make you broke spending $80 a year? Domaining is a gamble & I'm not so poor that I can't afford a little gamble. No one here should be. I recently acquired AEN.co, a gorgeous LLL.com. And I really don' care if ppl think it's a waste - you have my unconditional guarantee that it will never drop as long as it's in my hands.

If buying $20 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets a year isn't considered a bad thing financially--you'd likely win about $2 from them all--then setting aside a few .co's isn't a bad thing,

Since ppl aren't getting the point of this thread, I' closing it up. Happy investing everyone

actually, i can assure you people "get it." seemed like everyone else was having a debate and not sure what watered down version of forums and the internet you've been using - but that is the whole point. discussion.

re: .mobi, had mandatory 2 year registration, so nothing was "reg fee" until about 2009. also the hype lasted a lot longer than a year and outperformed the .co sales you listed.

its all irrelevant anyway, we're comparing a very short unproven period of time with ANOTHER very short unproven period of time. its not like one TLD was HOT for 10 years and the other for only 2 years.

Jack invests in foreign scratch tickets. Jill buys blue chip assets at low multiples of stable earnings and at a significant discount to liquid cash value. Jack and Jill went up the hill, each with a buck and a quarter. Jill came back with two-fifty. OOH!
