Congrats on the sale. Personally, I wouldn't have even taken the name if it was free but when you find the right enduser, any price is possible! Well done :)

A rare highly motivated end user sale for a hyphenated .tv - total Congrats!

Do you know if the buyer already has the non-hyphenated equivalent or if it the non-hyphenated 'cooperative' was either listed for a higher price than what you sold your hyphenated name for?

...or if cooperativetv.com wasnt avail. or more expensive?
...or co-operativetv.com?

Again - Congrats! Good to hear for the .TV market at large.

Co-op would only use the hyphenated version, no way would they develop anything with the non hyphenated version. IMHO
All their branding, advertising, shops sign, developed sites all use the hyphenated as it IS called Co-operative rather than Cooperative.

Some of their sites, companies in the Co-op company:
www.co-operative.coop
www.co-operativebank.co.uk
www.co-operativeinsurance.co.uk

I just had a quick look and Co-operativetv.com looked available to reg.
I don't think there was ever a question of them wanting, using the tv.com, especially as this purchase looks to be associated with another recent .TV domain launch in Ethical.tv. All IMHO only

they also own co-operative.com,
one of my friends in UK saw their billboard using "co-operative.com" as their domain name. Just FYI.

They own at least 10 Co-operative websites, really a massive company in the UK.
www.co-operative.coop seems to be their main homepage which is sprising as to be honest id never heard of .co-op as an extension.

I wonder how they feel about the big, bad leakage issue... :?
Do not look to be too worried

THE Co-operative today launched its own digital television channel dedicated to raising awareness of the group's leadership on ethical issues.

The online resource - entitled www.co-operative.tv - features video footage which highlights the Manchester-based organisation's sustainable projects around the world.

The first video to be placed on `co-operative.tv' ties in with the group's £10m brand campaign, which launched in February.

The 10-minute film says The Co-operative was the first business organisation to adopt an ethically responsible approach across its entire portfolio - from grocery outlets to funeral care, and from pharmacies to travel agency.

It features members of staff talking about policies such as its decision to minimise waste packaging and its support for water and agricultural projects in the Africa.

The opening film provides footage of the Co-op's `walking bus' scheme, which aims to encourage youngsters to walk to school.

Patrick Allen, Co-op director of marketing, said: "The amount of interest in The Co-operative since we launched the brand campaign in February has been unprecedented.

"This groundbreaking initiative will contribute enormously to our outreach programme, enabling those who want to know more to access a host of information.

"The Co-operative.tv will show our community activity and highlight issues such as fair trade - this will be a great resource that I think will be particularly attractive to schools and colleges that wish to study co-operation as part of the curriculum."

The sponsored website also hosts footage made for the annual Young Film-makers Festival, which is supported by The Co-operative Group.

The website is run in conjunction with Scottish production company Hand Up Media, which was established to promote fair trade and ethical lifestyle issues in positive ways to consumers.
