Any appraisals on CMYK.tv would be greatly appreciated.
If you are even a tiny bit involved in marketing, design, printing, paper, photography, etc.... then you know how commonly CMYK is referred to.

looks like "cmyk" is searched for on google about 350,000 to 500,000 times a month.

....for those who don't already know what CMYK is, they are the basic colors used just about all color print processes (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and K stands for Black).

Thanks for any info

This name is worthless in the .TV extension without development. For a domain to have pure intrinsic value in this extension it must be a killer name. IMO.

Thanks for the quick feedback!
The only problem.... I already have a career.... not much interested in parking or developing it yet.
I has a lot of potential how ever.... paper companies, printer ink, ad agencies.....

But it's such a commonly used term, I was thinking about contacting some of the bigger companies (etc..) with 'cmyk' in their name (or the type of companies I just mentioned above) to see if they're interested.
Thoughts on any of it?
There must surely be some domains purchased for large amounts simply because it's exactly what someone is looking for, as apposed to developing it and showing all the income and traffic it can get.

$0 reason being in the .tv extension I cant even see a proper advertising scheme to run it. Lets say Company A bought it. how would you market it? What videos can you show other then a bunch of ink cartridges.

if your not willing to put in time on this domain you will be holding it for a long time paying renewal after renewal.....after renewal....

Elementary my dear Watson, indeed the domain is worth much more than the two previous appraisals. You my friend have tapped into a brand which is considered very strong in the design world. CMYK is the epic combination which print designers swear by. In addition to this, there is a magazine named CMYK that I and many others in the graphic design field have subscribed to.

Don't feel discouraged as this domain could be worth its weight. :) Here is a link to brighten your day

NamePros - Buy, Sell, Discover Domain Names

My appraisal for this places this domain in the lower $xxx range, developed the domain name could easily become another huge conglomerate geared towards graphic designers. Perhaps a video tutorial site in the making or how about a graphic design news channel?

I agree. CMYK can be a good brand name. In the .tv extension it could easily make sense and be used as a graphic designer video site.
But like I said.. Developed..

I'm a Graphic Designer myself...and I understand how important CMYK is to us. I think it's a great name...even in the .tv extension. I'm sure you can find a number of prospective end users for this name!

Agreed. That's the key word here. It has development potential like so many other domains.

Thanks!

Appreciate the honest feedback(s)

I'll have to think about what I'd like to do.....

In regards to .tv domains..... I've been making a living in e-commerce marketing for some time now and I can tell you that .tv will continue to grow dramatically.
Not only is it shorter than a .com but is becoming known in the entertainment world.... here in the U.S. we have a few major networks who are beginning to use it and in Europe it has been a little bit more popular.
When you see an ad on TV for something like NBC.tv or Lost.tv..... you'll really know it's coming :)

Thanks peeps

That will never happen. Large media companies have for the most part avoided .TV due to the fact it's a ccTLD ultimately controlled by the government of Tuvalu.

Current.TV migrated to Current.COM, at least in part, due to this reason. IMO.

Agreed... they won't rely on .tv
But it makes a whole heck of a lot of sense from a marketing point of view, especially with all these youngsters taking over the world :)

may be a strong keyword agreed but still the extension to me does not make sense for this keyword and I like .tv very much for the right keywords.

I understand what you're saying... but,
I have a lot of experience creating large brands and building existing ones.... the public (as well as the business channel side of things) wouldn't care whether it was .tv or .com.
Simply you begin to present the brand is where it lives.
Basically, there is no reason to talk about why something lives on a .tv
That's just where it's website is, ".tv" the text and meaning will not be associated with the brand unless you decide to explain it or relate it as you promote the brand.

As MicroGuy says...... I M O

....Hey I like it here, glad I registered :)

Wanna know another domain I own?
It's basically my blog and I bought it for a totally wacky reason....
About 15 years ago, I wrote in a journal that "the web would ruin tv"
Now I own that statement!
RUIN.tv - Because the web WILL ruin tv . . . . .blog photos t-shirts
Yes, know you (kinda) know who I am

One other fact that I forgot to mention.

According to most Internet sources, the Verisign contract with Tuvalu expires in a few years. In addition, Tuvalu (who tried to sue the Bush administration) has threatened to sue Verisign over the handling of the extension. This leaves the TLD currently in a very murky place.

Hence the accelerating number of premium .TVs being dropped and returned to the available list and the mass exodus of popular .TV sites.

Lol!
Sinking islands make me nervous
I'll risk the $25 a year :)

Did I mention that I think everyone should buy an eco-car immediately, I am now starting a mission to save Tuvalu.
I am now inviting Tuvalueeans into my home...

In October of 2008 there were 52,827 premium .TV domains available for registration in Enom's premium inventory. As of today, that number has grown to 53,489 available.

Another sign that .TV is contracting at an alarming rate.

If we get a Tuvalu Embassy here can we keep the domain?
