I think enom clubdrop is fishy. I bidded on 2 domains on the last minute of the auction.

I was the highest bidder of the 2 domains and iam sure of it. It was in the last second.
Now today, both the hi-profile domains are caugt by enom. Pool dint even notice this domain(thankful to pool). Now its listed in private auction saying that highest bid is xxx$(10$ more from my bid which showed as highest bid as of yesterday).

Something fishy.., because i was the highest bidder. :(

You tried to snipe a bid? Enom clubdrop now has an anti-sniper mechanism:

if someone bids in last 5 minutes the auction is now extended by 5
minutes from that point

Hi apollo, It was not in the auction. It was on the day the domain is scheduled to drop. :(
I bidded exactly at : 9:55 and at 9:59 to make sure that iam the highest bidder.

and the other bidder(s) bid as soon as the private auction started.

no matter what, if there are two or more bidders on drop day it goes into a private auction starting at the last bid on drop day.(so sniping at 9:59 does no good, you will always be put in the private auction nomatter how much your bid)

Yeah, so I think you've actually ended up inflating the price before the auction even started!

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that enom probably has to decide before drop time its best drop-catching strategy - which names to check first, which ones more often, etc. If you have a name with very little indicative interest prior to the drop (in terms of number of bidders and bid amount), then enom might not prioritize it, thereby allowing some other drop catcher a better chance.

My philosophy in drop-catching is that if my interest in a name is sufficient to bid the $60 minimum at Pool, and maybe even a snapnames slot if available, then I'll also bid at least $60 at enom, to increase the chance that enom will get it. If its not worth a $60 bid, then why bother with the name?

Well, there are some dropping names that are cool, but not worth $60, I guess. Probably the reason why Enom is doing so well with their under $60 initial bid.
