First thing I think of is Candied Yams, so at least that is food, just not desserts. If put in context with the proper logo and graphics to indicate desserts, it's an OK one-word, actual word for a brandable. To expand your end-user pool, it could also just be candy like a shorter version of Get Candied for a candy shopping site.

The negatives I can see are visually, after staring at it for the few minutes while typing this is is also spells CAN DIED which you could use for a can shooting enthusiast site : grin : And it's similar sounding to Candida https://draxe.com/candida-symptoms/ which is a troublesome yet popular Yeast/Fungal infection. Loads of Alternative Health websites about it.

Sorry, those kinda ruin it for me : bummer :

I like this name quite a bit. Food related businesses would definitely be interested. Also large scale catering companies may want to re-brand to it, restaurant chains, pastry/candy sellers. Not sure how there are negatives...except for it being plural. I mean I didn't even think of that random yeast infection thing until the previous poster said it and even then it still looks like Candied, like Candied Apples or Candied Yams...it could also be used by a cook book company....its great.

The name drop catch for $321 less than 6 months ago.

Cool name.

The only issue is that Candied is a very specific adjective and it doesn't apply generically. It therefore depends on what you plan on branding.
Candied makes no sense for cakes, pies, tres leches, jello, pudding and I would look for something else.
If you want to use it in the context of nuts, fruit, ginger etc. its awesome

Although you obviously couldn't use it for everything, I think this makes for a great brand. Doesn't have to be limited to deserts either (where it might not actually work as well because it actually excludes a lot of desserts .. but it really depends on the context .. it could still easily work with the right logo/marketing).

In adult related industries this could make for a great name .. lol

But also just any company that wants to give the image of having something extra .. meaning that the image of a candied apple is more appealing than a regular apple. Could be a good name for a marketing company who wants to give the impression they can make things stand out more than they already do.

Obviously "Candy.com" makes an infinitely better brand name as it's not the past tense. However, in this case the past tense word "candied" does have it's own meaning, so I don't see that devaluing the term as much as the standard past tensed verb. And if you got it for $321 as mentioned above, this is a great price .. you should be able to easily 10-25x that to an end user I'm thinking.

Be careful building it out if you think you might want to sell it some day as you don't want to limit what potential buyers could potentially see as end use for the domain.

I read it as Can Died, which is just weird. I don't know...

PS For context - My background was medical research so I'm certain only a small segment of the population would make the medical term connection. Most brandables sound like Rx names to me!

@Ategy.com - adult, good idea! A candy striper/nurse fetish maybe?

Thanks for the all the comments! I actually bought it from Namejet for bit more than that Dropcatch price (someone made a super-quick flip), but I'm still pretty happy with the purchase.

Good points regarding the fact that it might not be ideal for deserts. If anyone still wants to comment: how about something related to decorations / small design items?
