Any appraisals on this?

Unsure how much I should be asking for this kind of name. I was thinking mid XXX.

Thanks.

Should be the reverse KansasRoofing. Does not mean it cant sell it will just be a very hard sell. maybe low $XX just because it really does not make sense search wise or as a business name

That's fair enough.

Although I will add that it's taken in .org and .net.

And "Roofing(all other states)" is also taken in more than .com.

Dont get caught up with how many are taking. What matters out of that are how many are developed running businesses. If they are all taking but they are parked from domainers then that could be a telling sign that end users dont care for that term.

It is a decent domain for an end user, but I doubt anyone is going to pay much of a premium for it.

A few things to consider -

1.) Roofing is a very tough service field to sell domains in. It is just not a field in general where end users really get domain names.

2.) There are multiple tenses - Roofing, Roofer, Roofers, etc.

3.) The reverse order is a more appealing brand. Kansas Roofing is just a more natural term than Roofing Kansas.

4.) Very few roofing companies operate state wide. They generally operate in cities and metro areas.
An end user would probably rather have the city they service in the domain than the state.

For an end user to pay a premium there generally needs to be limited other options. In this case there are many comparable options.

4) On Brad's list is the one that hits me first. Would have to be a big job to drive across the state. The other thing would be the actual state. If it was higher on the state ladder it would be much more desirable. The down side of the state in this case (less roofs per square mile, farmers that mend their own darn roofs, roofers in big K citys use the city keyword over state) might be offset by the Wizard of Oz thingy.

The dot net would be someone to contact when you need to liquidate the name or tired of holding it. What makes them a great candidate for your name is they already have an interest in what's to the left of the dot and they show that they know the value of using multiple domains.

Your price is a minimum if your talking to a motivated enduser that contacted you first. Other than that you will probally have to chop the price if you're contacting people first.

There is a thread currently on NP where a guy is begging people to post domains that are better than the 10 or so he just bought so he can learn. I would support this domain as an example. Goodluck
