Inbound marketing is a sub-market of the bigger whole marketing niche, so no problem but you'd be better off targeting the whole, rather then the few in my opinion.

constructive criticism:
INBOUND.com would have been the one to buy;
Inbounds.com would make a great blog, don't see much resale value there;

I like the idea. There should be no negative connotation or problems. Though, I see that Inbound.com is doing something similar in a TED Talk format, and Inbound.org is doing pretty much exactly what you mentioned. So, I would try my best to set myself apart from the crowd, and make sure I have a unique offering.

Some ideas:

- A service that handles, and converts, inbound leads for business owners.

- A general service that procures and generates inbound leads.

- Something to do with Basketball/Football? Specifically, a "Playbook" or "Tips & Advice" type of site?

Of course, if you go forward with your original idea, it should still pan out well. There's no reason you can't move in and make a space for yourself.

Cheers! :)

IMO an excellent name given the availability or lack thereof of names for the " inbounds " marketplace.

I'm have had domains since '96 and by choice limit marketing of same to " inbounds offers" to purchase.

I have items other than domains that I might (?) consider selling and also limit efforts to dealing with
" inbounds inquiries ".

There is a not so subtle art of attracting " inbounds " inquiries which is advantageous to a very patient potential seller of items, names or otherwise.

So overall I like the name and it's use as described.

As to the best answer to your question, I second @hxp 's response. Like the name.

I guess because everyone is so predisposed to online marketing, it seems like the perfect name for inbound marketing. I highly disagree that there is minimal resale value. Not sure how many athletes there are on this forum but the word "inbounds" is a vital descriptor for many court/pitch based games like basketball so this name actually has very good resale value.

in·bounds
ˈinboundz/
adjective
BASKETBALL
  1. denoting or relating to a throw that puts the ball into play from out of bounds.

This name would fit very well in the athletic performance/training niche. Almost to the point of me saying, it might be better to try and sell this first rather than develop it. Don't take any lowballs high 4 figure to low 5 figures or more seems like a realistic range for this name.

Best of luck :)
