Brand new to the forum.

I own clink.com, a URL that I purchased a few years ago for $11,000 from a private party for an animation business I own called, "Clink." The animation business has gone in to hibernation, and I'm no longer actively using the URL.

I get inquiries on a quarterly basis from people interested in buying, but I've never got an offer compelling enough to sell. That said, I don't really know what it's worth. Thus my reason for posting here.

1. Acquisition Reason: For an existing business.
2. Markets: Was business to business creative services. Not applicable now.
3. Research: None
4. End-User Value: Don't know.
5. Reseller Value: Don't know.
6. Traffic: Minimal
7. Revenue: None
8. Age: +/- 18 years
9. Miscellaneous: Not desperate to sell, but would for the right price.

Thanks in advance for any of your thoughts on value.

Robb

It's a LLLLL.com that is readable and brandable. Also it's old and has a good history/reputation! I would say mid $xx,xxx.
Best of luck!

"Clink" is an English generic single word.
It is highly pronounceable, catchy and unforgettable.
The exact match monthly searches is low, about 8k.
Not a popular word but is mid(lower tier) quality.

Resell price: low-mid $x,xxx
End User price: low $xx,xxx

*It will be very difficult to sell it for mid $xx,xxx, but may be possible if you will wait for a long time.

Best of luck :)

The .com astounds me at times when i see what people have already written in this thread.

I personally think you paid top dollar for it as an end user because you needed it as a part of your business plan, I think you might struggle to match the price you paid in todays market with all other TLD's for that phrase taken.

That said, .com is king.....stranger things happen.

Thank you for all of the insightful feedback.

I've had an offer for $15,000. Estibot says it's worth $24,000.

Is Estibot really all that reliable? Or is it more like Zillow.com, that spits out a number that may or may not be accurate?

In the end, I know it's only worth what someone will pay for it. I just want to make sure I'm not taking a lot less than I could reasonably get.

Thanks again!

Noooooooooo....

Rule nยฐ "0":
A domain name is worth exactly what a buyer is willing to pay for it, no more and no less.

As DKN said, you must find the right & wealthy END USER for maximise your ROI!

Nice domain!

Estibot is great for research but I don't recommend making buying and selling decisions based off the appraisals alone.

I'd give that 15K offer serious consideration, especially if the domain is no longer generating revenue. It's hard to say without knowing how serious the quarterly offers you receive are.

Here are your comparable sales....

plink.com 8,450 USD 2015-05-19 DropCatch
ulink.com 20,000 USD 2012-12-26 Sedo
elink.com 14,162 USD 2009-01-21 Sedo
slink.com 2,777 USD 2005-12-10 SnapNames
clinx.com 1,467 USD 2015-02-28 GoDaddy

estibot is considered to be a joke among domainers.

What you have is a brandable - certainly a premium brandable, but not something that is in the same range as commodity domains (short numerics, 3 letter .coms, strong dictionary words).

If you received an offer for $15,000 I'd try to get the buyer up to $20-$25K, depending on how much you need the money more than you need the domain.
