Hi,

I just rereopened CityPics.org for another time and beside of its new top-level domain I added some other new features too - most prominently the ability to store the geographical coordinates of a location within a satellite map.

I'd be happy to hear some critics, be it positive or negative, about the site respectively suggestions for improvements you would find nice to have in such a site.

Thank you!

PS: Should you have pictures of your or another city, I'd certainly welcome you to post them.

For some reason white on blue looks not so good in my opinion. Your site does look a bit boring. Why? If your site is all about city images, you should have an option where people can check out images for free without sign up for an account. But if they want to rate or comments on the image, they have to sign up for a free account, and if they want to post their own pictures more than whatever megabyte you set, they have to pay for premium (just more space in MB).

Other than the reasons above your design should be okie.

Nice site Looks great. I would like to blow up the pics to see them better but it wants me to create a account. I didnt see a reason I should create a account so I left the site. You should sell me on becoming a member. I see no reason for me to sign up, what do I get? Overall The site is nice. I would put member benifits on the front page.
good luck

Thanks for your comments, I am aware that the design isnt too flashy, but to be honest I like it, however I am currently thinking about changing some areas, if you would have any suggestions in particular about the design I'd appreciate them. The current system to require people to register to view the photos should encourage them to sign up. I know it would be more user friendly the other way, but I am worrying people wouldnt consider to register. Also I am trying to be a bit careful with premium accounts.

Thanks, I am about to redesign the front page. Less intro text, more pictures.

Thanks, but what do you mean exactly by "rate"?

Thanks for all the opinions. I listened to all of them decided to open up CityPics to the public without any mandatory registration. The major news are that all photos are now accessible without an account. Also the front page was overhauled and has a bigger focus on photos.

Of course registration is still free and gets the user the ability to comment and rate photos as well as to see the satellite location where the picture was taken. Also registered users do not see any advertisement banners.

I'd appreciate any new comments or suggestions about the changes.
