I believe only short and easy-to-remember domain names are sustainable, regardless of where in the world you live and which cultural background you come from.

Now that the Chinese domain market has become a hot topic, I myself want to understand this trend too. Is there any real meaning behind each domain name sold in China? Here, I'd like to share with you what I've found as I read the Chinese news everyday.

GZX.com
GZX can stand for 更自信 (even more self-confident) which can be used in many fields such as education, self-help, and even consumer products to raise your self image.

XLY.com
XLY can stand for 夏令营 (summer camp) or 新领域 (new field) which can be used in recreation and high-tech products.

Hello Kassey,

Chinese domainers were not active last week (On Namejet and Dropcatch). Is there a holiday in China?
I don't know. The most important event of the year is the Chinese New Year which is 1/25.

Not Pinyin. I don't know.

Too early to tell if it'll become a dominant force in the digital world.

Really you surprise me, "DCEP" or a possible variation is China plc this will eventually lead to dominant gratis exchanges competing in open markets. IMO exchanges will be the mass public investment interfaces. April or May will see fundamental changes take place. "Time is information we don't have"

It's 3-pin, but I can't think of a meaningful Chinese phrase for it. There is a similar phrase I found in Baidu: 酒是色, which has to do with wine and sex. https://zhidao.baidu.com/question/555234168335634452.html
Personally I find Baidu search results difficult to fathom. Find it interesting that China plc allows search results related to gaming to show or is this just in international searches ? e.g. PukeZhibo com reg by Alibaba the algo gives the same rating to ZhiboPuke. Gaming is tightly restricted.
DianziJingji 电子竞技 (Esports) has high search returns Although I guess most teens would use the superstate word esports obviously, the com had gone but I covered the the ai (love) as it might be appropriate. I guess one can but throw bread on the water when one is not seeped in the culture ...

Be careful DianJing also means Esports IMO it's the superstrate terms that give you a small (experience) advantage. Just seems unusual to me that you can hand reg CasinoBet/s (com) in pinyin or Casino247 perhaps it's down to the tight regulation as Chinese domainers are way ahead of the game

@Kassey Lee

Recently acquired FCKC.com, do you see any good 4PIN meaning?

Also acquired Nijigen.com, which is Japanese for 2D or Anime Comics and Games (二次元), but is also taken in .cn probably do it's importance in the niche. Is it common for Chinese to own Japanese .com domains?

Acronym domains up to 4L have real end users in corporate China. Just need to do end user research to see if it represents any existing company using 4-pin name, such as checking the equivalent .cn and .com.cn, and throwing FCKC into Baidu search to see if there is any match. Domain awareness in Japan is very low and consumers are told to use the search box instead, so I don't expect much selling domains to Japan.

I learned that KC--->科创 i.e Science and Technology (Kē chuàng)

Lots of companies use this in their name. KC ending make sense for a tech company?

I often come across Ke Ji (科技 = science and technology) in company names instead. 科创 probably means "Sci-Tech innovation" (see https://baike.baidu.com/item/科创板/23274864)

@Kassey Lee Star Market(http://www.sse.com.cn/star/) is actually really interesting, it appears to me that China is trying to compete with the NASDAQ.

Also when you do a baidu search of 科创集团, there are a ton of companies using the term in their name. Many ending with KC, in 3L, 4L and even 5L .com's and .cn.

I've also done further research and checked Chinese AIC websites to make regional company searches with the term 科创, with each region I've checked so far producing over a 100 results. I'd recommend checking these out for anyone researching their CHIP 4L.com domains once they've ascertained realistic business name use. It will give you an understanding of just how many companies actually use your pinyin term of course...make your search in simplified Chinese.

You can also check out:

https://www.qichacha.com/

It has a company search. Searching 科创, shows over 300k businesses with it included in their name.

I'm not surprised at all. The importance of China in the domain space was hinted to me a few years ago when Namescon scheduled its online auction with consideration of the Chinese New Year.

Wow, you are good! I didn't know that. Yes, you are right. There are many companies using 科创 in their name. Thank you.

This is a fantastic tool! It evens give you the contact phone. Now I have another tool in my end user research toolbox. Thank you very much.
