Hello,

I own the domain name chicagolandevents.com. It is NOT a developed web site. "Chicagoland" is a very common term used to describe Chicago and its surrounding metro area.

I would like to sell this domain name. I plan on "cold-contacting” appropriate businesses and organizations in the area to let them known it is available. I've tried the free domain appraisal services and they return various values. In April I paid for an afternic appraisal and it came back at $1200.00

I am also considering trying to sell it via one of the various internet "brokers".

I bought the name years ago on a whim and am not well versed in the process. Am I on the right track and what are your opinions of the value of the name?

Unless you can find an end user who will build a site on it, I think it is worth low to mid $xx despite the Afternic appraisal.
