What do you think this .com domain name is worth? It was registered in 1998.

Thank you! I am new here. Where should I sell the domain? Just in the forum under the section? I am not sure how the rules work for new members.

Maybe, but MAYBE 2k end user.

Wholesale I see it around high XX or perhaps low XXX. Not higher.

$45 to $115 = Reseller Value Speculation (NOT an end user speculation)

Thank you! That’s the plan. I will list on those platforms next. This forum sent me offers of like $20 and stuff. Absolute garbage. That is scam material offers.

It's not a scam, selling to resellers/investors is very different than selling to end-users. As an investor you have to factor in expected sell-through rate, yearly renewals, opportunity cost, etc.

Low $xxx would be a very decent reseller offer in my view. To the perfect end-user I can see this one selling for $xx,xxx potentially, but you're probably in for a long wait (years, decades.. ) and lots of uncertainty if you decide to go that route

Mmm, a 25 year old domain is already in it for the long haul. Offering $20 is a scam. This website is a scam.

For 25 years nobody wanted this name. Nobody uses this term as a brand. Its has very little enduser potential. It will probably never sell. You should not take $20 when u have $250 in renewals already. Just put it up for $4,999 and pray to god someone clicks it.

As an aged, two word .com domain, I'd value it at $20,000 - $30,000 depending on your buyer. Can become a time/watch brand or service. Compare to TimeCentral .com. Research your buyers and make some cold calls to gauge their feedback. I would not sell this domain for less than five figures.

There's a difference between an offer where you can sell it today or this week (wholesale), or if you're willing to wait another 25 years to maybe or maybe not get a higher offer (end user).

It's like finding a buyer for it who is interested in buying domains in general, not this specific domain vs someone who wants to buy this specific domain and they find you. That's going to have a huge influence on the price you're offered.

If someone wants CentralTime.com specifically, they'll be willing to pay more than a random person on a domain forum who thinks "Hmm, no action in 25 years? I still see some value, I'll pay x amount to have this sitting in my portfolio."

Most domains don't get any offers, ever, period, full stop. I don't imagine that will be the case with this one.

But so far, the person who wants CentralTime.com specifically hasn't reached out to you, it sounds like? They may or may not exist yet, they may or may not exist in the future. That's the risk of holding out, instead of selling it to a domain investor.

When I hear of a domain that's been sitting for 25 years and hasn't had an end user come along yet, I wonder if I'm willing to tie up my money for 5, 10, 15, 20 years.

Toss up a landing page from afternic, dan, SEDO, domain.io, or whatever else and see what sort of offers you get in the next few years and that might give you a better idea what it's worth. See how much traffic the domain gets, where they're from, etc.

I reckon you could probably get $500 for it today fairly quickly, but that doesn't mean $20 is a scam. Everyone here would tell you it's worth more than than $20.

It's a bit uncool for someone to see "Hey this person doesn't know what his name's worth? Lemme offer $20..." Maybe borderline predatory since they're preying on your ignorance, but in order for you to call this entire forum a scam without being a loser who should just acknowledge this is new territory for you, I'd need to see like a coordinated effort from members on this forum to convince you it's worth $15 and then offer you $20 and that simply hasn't happened. Where's the scam?

You could apologize, you're a new person who came here out of nowhere and had people taking their time to offer you guidance. You got a lowball offer from an individual, that's not a scam and it doesn't reflect on the community as a whole.

Feel free to DM me your asking price at any time if you decide to go the wholesale route, I think this is a cool enough name. I wouldn't pay 30k for it, though.

$1500 if you don't feel like pushing the sale very hard. If you feel like pushing the sale 10k minimum.
