Unfortunately this is the perfect example of a domain that is going to depreciate over time, because it relates to old technology. CD has been superseded by DVD, that itself has been superseded by Bluray etc.
CDrom is just one step ahead of diskette

I think that the suggestion by @Acroplex is the most appropriate. A site like http://www.oldversion.com/ perhaps.
At leas the .net TLD fits in nicely here.

Resale value: imo low-$$$+ for the novelty strictly.

This domain is valuable , .net nicely fits with keyword but you need to sell it as fast as possible. With time the value of this domain is going to depreciate. But that doesn't mean you should sell it at cheap price. My opinion is mid xxxx - high xxxx
