I just grabbed the domain www.cavetroll.com, which had been registered since 2002 until today. Cave Troll is a very common term (even in quotes, there are 266,000 results in Google!).

I am thinking about options for development, and right now my top choice is a Lord of the Rings fansite (since I'm a big LOTR fan). The Hobbit (prequel to LOTR) will be out sometime in the next few years, so that is definitely something to go on.

Anyhow, I'm just wondering how you guys would appraise this nice grab :hehe:

I like it a lot.

I had Ringbearer.com many years ago (before the movies) and sold it for $1500.

PS are you the new zealand Tom Hanks?

Haha, good keywords, but i don't think it's very common search term.
I mean, does the common person google "cave troll" (LOL) regularly?

Thanks for your opinion. And I don't really think that the value lies in the keywords, but more in the useability of the domain. Being a nice keyword just shows that it's a term that is very commonly used in things such as fantasy games, Lord of the Rings, etc, and has great potential to be used as a site relating to one of these. Very easy name to remember ;)

Thanks again!

I like it :) here's a little info on Trolls

From Wikipedia

A troll is a fearsome member of a mythical anthropomorph race from Scandinavian folklore. Their role ranges from fiendish giants โ€“ similar to the ogres of English fairy tales โ€“ to a devious, more human-like folk of the wilderness, living underground in hills or mounds, inclined to thieving and the abduction of humans which, in the case of infant abductees, was substituted with a changeling. They could also be known as hill-folk or mound-folk. In Shetland and Orkney tales, trolls are called trowe. Tororu is the Japanese word for troll.

Nordic literature, art and music from the romantic era and onwards has adapted trolls in various manners โ€“ often in the form of an aboriginal race, endowed with oversized ears and noses. From here, as well as from Scandinavian fairy tales such as Three Billy Goats Gruff, trolls have achieved international recognition, and in modern fantasy literature and role-playing games, trolls are featured to the extent of being stock characters.

S**t - I must be a TROLL :yell:

Nice grab! I actually was looking for that domain some months ago. Don't think it's worth much parked, but great name for developed LOTR fansite. Some fan might pay high $xxx for it.
