Good luck to you on this one (not meant as sarcastic). I found .tips extension too vague & low class for my own taste but that is my personal bias. I'm kind of looking at these things as if someone was a company or retailer or both obviously and would they use ____.tips as a classy domain name. I just don't see that for the extension .tips. I do for the right prefix for a domain like .Technology, .computer, etc.

But hey if you can get this cheap, go for it. I found I could register domains dirt cheap with private registry off codes I found on this forum. Lowest one I got with private registry was somehow under $5 for a .com. Other .technology domains I got with Private Registry were under $12. Obviously they're a lot cheaper withoujt private registry. So go for it if you haven't bought it yet and if you have, you won't lose sleep over the registry price. Good luck.

I saw that carcaretips.com, .net and .info were registered and they are actual websites. So many search results... but yeah i can see that people are not pleased with these new gTLD's.

Thats the problem with anything with good keywords, the .coms are all taken. A few of the newer extensions seem pretty good to me and a lot not so good. If there's an extension relating eventually to cars in some kind of fashion, that would be a good extension to use for car care tips. I registered SelfDrivingCar.Technology cause I thought that would be a good match as opposed to say SelfDrivingCar.Tips. I did this more as a cheap experiment than anything else. The problem is these cheap experiments all add up!

Don't know if you're joking or not. I just was using that for example of a bad match as I don't think Car Care Tips Have Anything to do with technology. I think if a domain extension comes up relating to cars or transportation that would be a good match, Right now I didn't see any of the new extensions including technology that were a good match. There is a technology for self driving cars which is why I did that. In retrospect that was probably a stretch even for $10 or so. Oh well!

You can't ask for very much on CarCare.tips. A buyer has too many other options -- CarCare.com (generic premium), CarCareful.com (brandable), CarCare.guru (other vanity extensions), CarCare.net or CarCare.info (secondary established extensions), etc. And, of course, your buyer would need to get CarCareTips.com as well if he's planning on making any serious investment. That means you'd only get 50% of the budget, give or take. And you'd be at the mercy of the other domain owner.

Meanwhile I see little evidence that these vanity extensions are selling on the wholesale market. Domainers aren't buying them from domainers. And that says a lot.

It's a good name. But very few of the sales for domains in vanity extensions that I'm seeing make it above $1xxx. And 99.999999999999999% of them are sitting around while domainers count their unhatched chickens.

Thank you ImageAuthors for taking time to write and for not puking. I reg'd this domain name because all of above domain names you mentionned are already taken almost all of them have a website so i tought, after checking the search results on google, that someone in the near future will really be interested in buying it. First i tried to get household.tips (if anyone is interested) but to register it they asking $399 so didnt want to take big risk and ended up with this one for not much.
