Hi,

Does anyone here know if it´s possible to cancel a transfer at Sedo.com ? I´m selling a domain through them, but having second thoughts about this.

Thanks

You're in the middle of a transaction where you already agreed to sell for a price? No, you can't cancel out like that. It would be pretty unethical to do so as well since you're already in a legally binding contract.

If you have sold the domain (mutual agreement with buyer) you have entered into a binding commitment to sell. Unless buyer fails to pay you just cannot retract the sale.

Ok, thanks, but what If I could contact the buyer, and agree with him that I can cancel, would that be ok ? If yes, how do I contact the buyer since everything is through Sedo.

You have to contact Sedo, since there's no way to know who the buyer is otherwise.

Simply put you can't contact the owner since the transaction is anonymous (at least on your end). I'm afraid you can't back out. Take the money and get over it :gl:

Yeah, you´re right - it´s just a domain name and the money is good.

it does not hurt to ask sedo. But you should have had the second thought before you agreed on the sale.

I did decide to sell, but the buyer hasn´t paid yet. It´s been 8 days since Sedo sent an invoice to the buyer. What happens if the buyer doesn´t pay?

I sold a domain via Sedo and although the transaction is supposed to be anonymous, I had no problem at all finding out the buyer's name. His message included the name of another site he owns, and I just did a whois. I did not use this information to my advantage, I was just curious.

I thought Sedo checked all messages for contact information !?

You opted to sell it at that price, the buyer opted to pay at the same price. You are legally bound to complete the transaction regardless of 2nd thoughts. In all honesty the best domainers are honest and true to their word, my advice would be to do your best to complete the sale.

Well, I can´t do anything if the buyer doesn´t pay.

Waiting 2 days more. I don't think the buyer would pay after 8 days past :(

You may luck out if the buyer doesn't pay - that being said, you definitely need to let us know what name this was... Always weird when a seller wants to back out yet the buyer is slow to pay ;)

You mean that the buyer has paid but Sedo doesn't receive yet?

Sedo has received the money, we´ll see how long it takes to reach me.
