Is it not intellectually dishonest to have links in your "packages" area to sites which have been designed by another company?
I understand that it may show the type of site that you would design for that amount of money but people (like myself) will feel uncomfortable if clicking on a site that they assume (naturally even if you aren't claiming credit directly it is a natural assumption) was designed by you, have a design link which isn't to your site.
I think it knocks your credibility badly. Wouldn't it be better to have a portfolio of work that your company has done and which links back to your design company? I know it's difficult to build up a portfolio when your company is just starting out, I know, because I am trying to do it myself. But I will not only just link to sites I have designed, I will be honest and upfront when the site design has been for myself (as in a design for personal websites, interest and business sites where I am the client as well as the designer) and same goes for sites I design for my fiancรฉ. It will be tough but hopefully my integrity will make the client feel secure. Obviously, as I get fully paying clients whose sites I have designed well, I will put those in my portfolio instead.
The site itself looks a little plain, its not obvious you design websites, Mozzy exposes a rather obvious SEO invasive spamming alt tags technique as the tiny bits of your image load complete with bundles of keywords, I wouldn't want to be using a speech or text only browser with that lot. You might like to try this little example - it creates a steep learning curve.
Walk a mile in another person's shoes
Imagine having to go through all your alt tags in a speech browser - eugh.
Google ads do not look professional, they take traffic away from your site and are not appropriate for your company. A rival company of my fiancรฉs (she was once his business partner in a hosting company and set up a rival company behind his back and got customers from a community site they both run before even telling him that she wanted out - oh and my fiancรฉ was subsidising the company, so if it wasn't making a profit, it was him that had to worry) has affiliate links at the top of her webpage (I mean, before the site's name and navigation!) what's more, the bravenet one is so obscurely worded it looks like it might be an in site link (and probably takes people out of her site straight away). It looks soo unprofessional that my partner and I have decided that a) She's not a serious competitor and b) not having affiliate links will be part of our ethical policy - if we recommend something, it will be because we know it's a good service, not because we get a penny per click through. As far as we are concerned, its good riddance to bad rubbish, especially seeing how our hosting company is just getting on th road to being more profitable.
The general purpose of that anecdote was to show you that I have decided that integrity is not helped by ads and affiliate links. (and to have a bit of a rant about an unscrupulous woman with unscrupulous techniques).
Best of luck with the future.
