If on the google ads keyword tool it says that the average cost per click (to the punter) for a certain keyword term with estimated ad position 1-3 is £14.73 (or $ 23).

why is my average Revenue per click (at sedo) only $0.91 ?????

surely even after Google & Sedo get their fat slice I should be making alot more per click than I am ?

..am I missing something else here ?

Thanks :tu:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

CPCs in the Keyword tool are estimates, and they are for Search (the ads that actually show up on the Google search page) not Search Partners nor Content.

I'm no pro but $23 may be the bid and not what the #1-3 position is having to pay, it may be closer to $4 to google from the advertiser then around $2 to the parking company and around $1 for the domainer.

Plus not every click on the lander is going to be to the highest paying advertisers ad.

Yeah they bid the big money to be on google's search results page not to on your sedo page lol This is why googles stock is $330 a share lol

Ahhh, thanks guys

I did'nt know for sure that they were treated any different, I guess there's no way to know what percentage sedo gets to split with us (in relation to what the punters are actually paying) ?

So if I were to build a mini-site with adsence, any ideas how much of a difference this would make in click payouts to me ?

Not until you try it. With AdSense, there's something called SmartPricing which is basically Google's assessment of how likely a click is to convert for the advertiser (basically the quality of your traffic) If you deliver good quality traffic, your EPCs will be higher.

I've seen speculation that Sedo keeps around 50% - less for SedoPro - but this is just speculation. They won't tell you.
