Can anyone get a .MD name?

I'm interested in getting a .MD name. Am I able to get one, or do I need to be a medical professional? I see it's not allowed for registration on GoDaddy.

it's the ccTLD for Moldova, but some companies may market it as medical professional even though it is a ccTLD. I don't see any big value in this.

And, I've got a name that works great for the TLD.

it is a country extension

true enough, in the beginning it was supode to be for medical / health related sites only, but the gambling names went quick and everybody that wanted jumped in

Its seems most people get confused about domain extensions. .tv is supposd to be some countries ccTLD but ppl thought it is only for television sites so .md is now supposed to be only medical sites but it is too some countires cctld. Why does this happen . ?

I thought .pro was going to be for professions such as medical (and legal, and others). And came with a hefty price tag.

I think all .pros domains are going for about $250 per year!
