Hey everyone,

I was wondering if any one had the necessary tools to perform a sweep of the dictionary to find available .eu's. It is getting more and more difficult to get them but there are a few gems still out there (e.g. i picked up fixated.eu yesterday).

If anyone can do this i will donate $NP 100

I was wondering if any one had the necessary tools to perform a sweep of the dictionary to find available .eu's. It is getting more and more difficult to get them but there are a few gems still out there (e.g. i picked up fixated.eu yesterday).

It is a bit complex - a pile of the .eu domains are still in Sunrise Phase 2. These are mainly business names. So the domains will be in the whois but not in the zone. Still I've around 95000 .eu domains detected so far. There's a lot of opportunity there but it probably lies in word pairs rather than single words.

They may appear free if you only do a DNS lookup on them but if you do a WHOIS lookup you will find that they are pending or are accepted and in ADR delay (that's a 45 day delay between the registration being accepted and the domain going active in the zone file). Then there is the problem that a lot of speculators (the organised bogus registrars referred to by Bob Parsons) have no nameservers associated with the domains. Rebuilding the .eu zone and figuring out, for definite, what is registered is a tough job.
