Can anyone answer this???

There is a domain name that i want to register. According to the availability it is "taken" however the whois record says the name expired on 5-20-03. Does this mean it is avail. or not avail? if it is avail. how can i get this name?

Once a name expires, it goes through a couple of stages before it is available to register again. Check this diagram for more info:

Can you tell us what the STATUS says? That will help us determine when it will be available....

I had thought the same till I tried to buy an expired domain and it wouldn't let me. So I logically guessed something happened inbetween but didn't know there was some whole process!

Hm I knew that it did something after expire, cause when my friends domain "expired" it was still up for a little bit after the expiration.
