Can a generic word .sc domain be worth alot?

Hey guys, can a generic word with a .sc be worth alot? it's has over 200 mill result on google and do you guys think it's better than some cctld's? because it can be used as source? like whois.sc

Unlikely. It would have to be a super premium to get any interest, and these have been long-taken.
I imagine only a couple hundred domainers think of .sc as 'source'.
.sc is likely to see a lot drops soon (I've decided to drop my last one) as the price for .sc nearly trebled nearly a year ago.

whois.sc used to be the only .sc site that I would visit and they have rebranded themselves so I now use domaintools.com.
IMO .sc should be treated as yet another exotic TLD. No offense, I respect all ccTLDs but as an investment I would stay away and favor more popular extensions.
Few people outside domaining circles will naturally think 'source' at the sight of a .sc domain.
Even .cc has been more successful at the 'it-could-mean' game :imho:

would this be worth alot? I'm buying it off someone else for mid xxx and planning for development

With development any name can be worth a lot more than it's 'base value', if you're after an example I'd personally value cartoon.sc $0-$10 undeveloped.

It's hard to say for certain without knowing the name, but I hope it's really good for mid-$xxx in .sc. If you're already buying the name- can you share with us what it is?

I did like .sc untill they really raised the price on them...I just got rid of my computer.sc and flower.sc....had a few visitors when i tried to develop one but i figured it was hard enough to get .infos noticed so i decided to stick with more memorable and popular extensions.

With proper development and publicity/marketing you could get it rolling but it must be developed.

I'm only aware of one .sc website....whois.sc

Other than that, I doubt if .sc has any value/popularity in the market..

there was little interest when I was trying to sell america + american {dot} sc last year.
