CampusAccess.com serves as Internet gateway for access to campuses all over US. CampusAccess.mobi could be Internet gateway for mobile access (e.g., from your cell phone) to campuses nationwide.

Any suggestions on value of CampusAccess.mobi?

I have two potential concerns here, IMHO. :blink:

One, was this .MOBI domain name registered based solely on the "recent sale" of the .COM ... as reported in the DNJ? And two, why didn't the Buyer of the .COM secure this respective .MOBI? Perhaps there is very little real End user interest, IMHO.

Anyone of us can scan the DNJ "recent sales" and register the .MOBI versions of "sold domains" ... but, really, shouldn't we aim to be more creative, unique, and compelling? :gl:

IMO, a $4,000 .com sale on the domain is too low to warrant regging the .mobi version solely on that basis alone.

I would aim for $10,000+ if you're going just on that criteria.....even then you have to be careful because the value of the domain might not be just due to the name alone.

This domain was registered not only because CampusAccess.com sold for $4,010. The principal reason
was that CampusAccess.com serves as Internet gateway for access to campuses all over US. Therefore, CampusAccess.mobi could be Internet gateway for mobile access (e.g., from your cell phone) to campuses nationwide. Imagine a student getting access to his campus via his mobile device.

Offer it to the .COM folks for a modest "Quick Sale" $Xx - $Xxx fee, IMHO ... if they don't jump at the 'opportunity', then we all will have learned a more valuable lesson about real End user interest in the .MOBi extension!

1 end user not interested in their .mobi when the extension is only 8 months old and they might not have heard of it yet does not explain anything about total end user interest now and definitely not future possible enduser interest. in the mid 90s there were tons of companies that werent interested in having their own company .com name either. they didnt think there was a need back then.

reg.fee, cause if the .com owner is smart then he'll position his .com as a domain that also provides access through cellphones and routes the incoming browser (if cellphone) to a wap.campusaccess.com and as garrett200 already stated, a .com that sells for 4k, doesn't warrant the investment in the .mobi solely on the fact of the .com sale ...but that's just my .2€

I don't agree with reg fee appraisals

It is a usage now to get access to something using mobile devices. Why not imagine a mobile campus access on CampusAccess.mobi? I guess this domain is worth around $0.5K.
