I'm not a huge .CA fan, but that makes sense ... I'm in the .US! :D
I think it has value, though ... "web name" is a pretty widely used alternate term for "domain name", "net name", etc.
Not a .CA officianado, but I'll say $135 - $170+ U.S. (wholesale), IMHO. I would appraise it higher if it was plural, as well.

Thanks, but I've been offered approximated 10x that amount - the market for .ca names up here is huge & growing rapidly. .ca's are being branded by most large Canadian corporations as well as Canadian counterparts of International corporations.

Do you think you'll sell it for that amount, or will you hold for a potentially higher offer? Please keep us posted, if you don't mind ... it would be nice to hear some encouraging .CA news.

Doc you may have to give yourself a physical after that appraisal

The .ca tld doesn't usually sell that well wholesale.
It sounds like your dealing with end-buyers. Thats great that your making sales. All the power too you!

That's good to know canuck. I don't see a lot of activity in the .ca market. I know there's still a lot of good ones available too! Maybe it's a market many of us are overlooking.

As the resident canuk, maybe you could share some of the past .ca sales that you know about.

I sort of wish Canada would agree to share it's .ca TLD with California. It could be good for domain values! j/k of course

Thanks for your input everyone. .ca's are governed by CIRA (www.cira.ca) who have pretty strict rules about the whole thing. Despite all this, companies in Canada are using the .ca to market themselves more & more. If you go to google.com from a Canadian ISP, you end up at google.ca automatically. I think it's become more popular here than .us has in U.S. (although it's been around longer here, so time will tell). I'm not aware of domain name sales for .ca's, but I'll ask around if anyone's interested. As for residency requirements, you can always get around that to register a name - my company is a reseller for most domain names, & we have no way of verifying addresses & neither does CIRA for .ca's, so don't let that stop you.
