Im just in the process of buying my domains now, where is the best place to buy them from.

I dont want to add the domains to my DNS servers yet, i just want to own them and when im ready transfer them to my dedicated server.

Does go daddy do this or do I have to use someone else, idealy just want to pay the $8, dont want to pay for my domain to just sit round I feel that should be free am i right?

I think the best places are Domainsite.com and NameCheap.com. I prefer Namecheap, but Domainsite only charges $6.99 for the first year.

No, you should not pay for "parking" your domain, and in fact if you think someone might be typing in the domain name to see what's there, you might make a little money by using a "domain parking service". Godaddy has this option, but I don't recommend it.

Most registrars will provide the option to have a parking page of some kind, or you can "forward" any traffic the domain gets to another site.

yeah i went with 1&1 hosting because thats where the sedo page took me, i wasnt impresed by godaddy at all, to many fields to fill in and trying to buy multiple domains was a pain in the arse.

Domains now parked at sedo, except for 2, still says it is checking/confirming them

Else you may wait for Yahoo promotion to get the $1.99 domain for the 1st yr
