Gents, I just received a private offer via email for BranchLocator.mobi, in the amount of $400. Should I accept it?

There exist such names as PharmacyLocator.mobi, StoreLocator.mobi, BankLocator.mobi, etc, but, these and similar names point to specific kind of branches ONLY, while BranchLocator.mobi could point to just any kind of branches, including but not limited to, pharmacies, stores, banks etc.

Thanks for your opinions guys,

Tony @ 480 303 1082

Yes and here is why. The name itself may be worth more than 400, you might be able to get more at an auction etc.. But maybe not. It is fair given the market. However, on the aftermarket if you are looking for names you WILL be able to probably get three to five comprable names (at least) if you are patient. Anyway, just my take

I agree $400 is a very good offer for the name, you may be able to squeeze another hundred or so out of them but i wouldn't counter more than $600 or they will do a runner, i think a $600 counter by you followed by a $500 by them should be a good deal for you both! But i'd aim for a finishing price of $500.

I don't normally give advice on other people's names, but have to agree with both aggieuk and cac14850.

It's a great brandable, in a great core market that is extendable as well, and with an obvious application at that: i.e. it saves the site owner the need to explain what the site is for and what to expect if you click on it. GPS should be great for it too, when it becomes easy to integrate in mobile sites.

Yet IMHO brandables are best left to developers.

A good dev should be able to make much more money with this domain if they focus on it early, and develop it properly.

If you're only a domainer and not a developer though, I would say take the offer.

Good offer. I would counter with $600 or $700, then let them counter with something maybe in the $500's range.

Hi

Nice name. As we both have read the mobi banking link I think its worth a lot more.

Would be a nice roi right before the holidays and if cash is needed then do sale.

If cash is needed and 400 offer, I would say 600 bucks and do the mean average of 500 bucks. 8 bucks a year to 500 bucks. Its a nice sale.

Mobi is hot now and as Rick said in his post, follow the money. In a 3 year to 5 year time frame this would be worth min 10 times more based on 400 buck offer

My first impression of branch is banking but in reality it means a lot more like brokerage firms and offices.

Either way its nice and good roi.

I wouldn't sell it for $400.
Why not to counter with let's say $1500?

Then let them counter with something in the $1K range, and then let the domain go for $800-900.
If they don't counter, why not to wait for the next offer (if you do not need the money immediately)?
This is how I did the last time and got twice the initial offer.

Gents, I counter-offered the buyer who came with $400 offer, and he doesn't want to increase his price. :(

I'd say $450 and it's his, mate don't go any lower!

You may be able to get many times more than the current offer if the right end-user came along, but IMHO: take it now.

If in doubt, you may want to have a look at the mTLD premium .mobi auctions on Sedo that will be closing in exactly six days time - the market will inevitable be impacted by these category-killer domains.
