Domain names that fall under the umbrella of this technology will one day have value. According to wikipedia, a BCI "is a direct communication pathway between an enhanced or wired brain and an external device. BCIs are often directed at researching, mapping, assisting, augmenting, or repairing human cognitive or sensory-motor functions."

Have you begun to register domain names targeting this and related technology. If so this is the thread to showcase.

Recently, Facebook has made statements pertaining to this technology.

Zuckerberg: Facebook Is Working on a Brain Interface That Lets You “Communicate Using Only Your Mind” https://futurism.com/zuckerberg-fac...at-lets-you-communicate-using-only-your-mind/

"In case you missed it, Facebook’s annual developer conference started today. At the event, CEO Mark Zuckerberg
revealed key details about where the company is going next, specifically focusing on what Facebook is working on in relation to bots, virtual reality, augmented reality, and new communication methods (such as advances they are working on in Messenger).

Oh, and he also said that key details are going to be revealed tomorrow about Facebook’s “direct brain interface.”

The work comes from Facebook’s mysterious “Building 8 (B8),” which has apparently been working on brain-computer technologies for some time. In their recent call for an engineer, B8 states that they are seeking “an experienced Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Engineer who will be responsible for working on a 2-year B8 project focused on developing advanced BCI technologies.”

Also Elon Musk has launched a company - Neuralink

ELON MUSK IS BACKING A NEW STARTUP THAT WANTS TO MERGE YOUR BRAIN WITH AI https://www.digitaltrends.com/cool-tech/elon-musk-neuralink-startup/

"...Elon Musk is reportedly backing a new “brain-computer interface venture,” which intends to develop the capability to implant AI-equipped devices into the human brain.

These neural enhancements could offer augmented improved memory for users, or allow them to more directly interface with devices. According to the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news, the company is called Neuralink, and was founded in California last July as a medical research startup."

bci's are in my opinion the next great technological leap of mankind.
but to be honest, i'm struggling to get some effective "BCI"+"something".com domains, because bci's usage would be everywhere, from entertainment to IOT devices. it will be a form of interface, so it's like having a "touchscreen" keyword in these days.
so what would be the value of.. "bcicomputer.com" or "bcigameconsole.com" or "bciimageeditor.com" or something like that.
that's why i've went for "bci"+"universal strong keyword"
so far i have "bcihealth.com" - next generation prosthetic devices will be controlled by thoughts, from robotic limbs to artificial vision and hearing, etc...
next is "bcilife.com" - universal strong brandable bci domain.
if everything goes well, in 20ish years, i will be a millionare :D

So far I went after the names that may be generic keywords; I have got:

DirectBrainInterface (.com)
DirectBrainInterfaces (.com)
DirectNeuralInterfaces (.com)
MindInterfaces (.com)

Like you, I'm presently in the process of thinking which domain names that incorporate relevant acronyms like bci, dni, mmi, etc can be winners. I like the strategy you are employing...I think bcihealth is a good acquisition!

I suppose the tricky thing about this technology will be the speed of its adoption, but I am viewing it as being mainstreamish in 10 years as opposed to 20 years...

As far as I'm concerned, timeframe is irrelevant... The only risk is:
1)Ww3 or some global smackdown to mankind stopping the development
2)Rebranding. Let's assume some tech giant build it's easy-to-use and reliable mainstream BCI and calls it "brain-fii", and all of a sudden the technology is broadly known as "BF", rendering "BCI's" branding power useless. But that's a very unlikelly scenario since every technology so far managed to keep it's name from early development to mainstream, from "web" to "vr", "ai", etc... So i belive registering "bci" domains would be a safe bet ;)

I think time-frame and knowledge about this technology are important factors from the perspective of a domainer or even end user. It will affect the price which can be commanded and the amount of offers that may be received.

There are risks. You have identified one - rebranding. For example related tech is also being referred to as "synthetic telepathy interface" (STI) and "Direct Brain Interface" (DBI). However rebranding is not the only risk if adoption of the technology is a long term proposition. For example the rise in popularity of alternative extensions if your holding .com's.

I remain excited and optimistic about this technology. I think I have invested in a few good generics and brandables in this niche so looking forward to seeing where it goes!

How to create the most value for the next technology wave https://techcrunch.com/2017/06/02/h...ed&utm_campaign=Feed:+Techcrunch+(TechCrunch)

"...

Another underappreciated technology component for AI/AR/VR is braintech. We see the evolution beyond headset-based AR and VR being delivered through some sort of direct brain interface. The challenges of doing this in a noninvasive way are obvious, but the benefits to the experience are just as apparent.

There are technical limitations to how well we can trick the eyes, ears and other sense inputs as to the reality of AR and VR creations. Bypassing sense inputs means that we can move past pixels and haptic frequencies and into neuronal firing patterns. In the near term we see braintech as enhancing AR and VR experiences, but long-term braintech may be the next major operating system to emerge.

New non-invasive brain-interface technology could be revolutionary

http://www.innovationtoronto.com/20...-interface-technology-could-be-revolutionary/

"...This next generation brain-interface technology is the first non-invasive, high-resolution system of its kind, providing higher density and coverage than any existing system. It has the potential to revolutionize future clinical and neuroscience research as well as brain-computer interfaces.

To test the custom-modified EEG, the research team had 16 participants view pattern-reversing black and white checkerboards while wearing the new “super-Nyquist density” EEG. They compared the results from all electrodes to results when using only a subset of the electrodes, which is an accepted standard for EEG density. Published in Scientific Reports, the results showed that the new “super-Nyquist” EEG captured more information from the visual cortex than any of the four standard “Nyquist density” versions tested.

“These results are crucial in showing that EEG has enormous potential for future research. Ultimately, capturing more neural information with EEG means we can make better inferences about what is happening inside the brain. This has the potential to improve source detection, for example in localizing the source of seizures in epilepsy,” said Amanda K. Robinson, the lead author and a postdoctoral fellow in CMU’s Department of Psychology and Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC) during the study. Robinson is now a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Sydney..."

lets bring this thread back to life.........

Mind how you use brain data, privacy watchdog warns

Companies in the future may use brain-monitoring technology to watch or hire workers, the data watchdog says.

I like the privacy/safety niche within this area, think it will be a big market.....

Could be a longish hold though.....
