Nice, I like the orange-blue theme. The only thing is that the category names have too much space and make the page too long to fit on the screen.

Detailed Analysis

A blog directory is an idea I haven't seen developed well - I hope it is successful for you. You have established a good design and have an easy to remember domain. All you really need now is to complete the site, and advertise it. Advertising it through affiliate buttons on blogs like a topsite would be best.

With your banner/logo, it seems a bit too basic. Using a pen image or something similar would go well. With the search bar, move it to the far right.

Under Google ToS, you cannot label Google ads anything but 'Sponsors' or 'Advertisement'. I would remove the 'Recommended Site' tag you've placed on the right menu ad. You should also fill up that right side with more features such as 'New Additions' or 'Sponsored Sites' etc.

The main 'Categories' box is organised well. I suggest adding popular sublinks under each of them. When I clicked on a catergory, the page appeared out of order. See this image: http://img304.imageshack.us/img304/7049/1ue4.jpg

Your 'About Us' page has some random capitalisation of words. Run the whole page through SpellCheck. 'popluar' is spelt wrong.

HI Anthony.

First let me say thanks for the very detailed site review.

1) I will look at finding someone to make a better site logo... and maybe with a pen as you recommended.

2) As for advertising the site.. I will do that via forums.. and Adwords to start it off and yes top sites is a good idea I will do that. I also will link to it from my other sites that would get the search engine spiders knocking on my door quickly.

3) As for having recommended site above the google ads I did not know that so I will get it with something else.. any idea.

4) I still have to add many more sub-cats to the main catagories on the site that will be done in the next few days.

5) Thanks for letting me know about the about us page I'll double check it.

Thanks Tom, there wasn't any need really :p

Advertising will be vital in getting the directory started. Maybe provide free featured listing if they place a small 88x31 logo on their blog?
