Blog Template Problem - Help!

A while back, after modifying my Blogger blog template, the main column went to the bottom of the sidebar. Trying to fix the problem just made the sidebar go down to the bottom of the main column (as it is now). I've tried many adjustments, but nothing works.

My blog is at http://taheny.com/. I will give 50 NP to the person who provides the advice I use to fix this problem.

Any tips about restricting the main column width or other improvements would be greatly appreciated as well. I have put tonnes of hours into the template and it probably looks like a dog's breakfast of html but as long as it functions I'm happy.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Previously (as in the archive link), the sidebar html was actually included in the main column and it made formating messy. Now, the side bar html is below the main column html. I want to keep it this way but adjust the html so the sidebar and main column are directly parallel.

Please keep the suggestions coming. For the person who suggests the solution I'll also give them (and their website) a plug on the blog.

It looks like one of the problems is that the code for your side bar needs to be moved to the top of the page. Here's a cached version of your blog that can probably help you figure out how to get it back to how it was:
