It's overpriced already, IMHO.

PS. The .COM is still for sale (or lease, or joint-venture), as well: :|

All the best!

Jeff, wear the mobi-loving hat for a moment and give us your guess from that perspective :)

(If you simply can't find a mobi-loving hat then I can lend you mine :) )

Okie, I'll borrow yours ... how much do you think it's worth (and how much did you bid for it on the current Sedo auction), Scandiman? :talk:

Thanks much.

I will be surprised if it goes for less than 30k. As such, I won't be bidding on it as I don't have near that kind of cash to spend at the moment. Give me some credit, if I were bidding on it I wouldn't have started this thread. :)

What would be a ballpark figure for bets.com. I'm not saying that you're right or wrong, but I'm a newbie and I'm just trying to see the percentage by sector and types in recent "sales". Not whether these prices are too high in general, but to compare.

Righto, of course there no right or wrong opinions here ... that's what makes Namepros.comโ„ข so great, IMHO. :music:

:snaphappy:

Okie, now on to the subject at hand ... which recent "sales" (I noticed your quotes, too!) should we use as comp's (comparables) here, IYHO? :gl: :talk:
Caveat: I know of no .MOBI domain name "sales" that have been reported here, or on any site or publication / source, that have been independently and accurately verified by an third-party accounting firm, IMHO.

Thanks, hopefully we can assign a reasonable appraisal ballpark figure here ... or, even better, think of a really cool development idea for any potential Buyer! Sound good? :)

Jeff, doesn't Dnjournal verify all domain sales before publication? You wouldn't take the sales there seriously? There have been some .mobi sales reported on that site.

Thanks for the reminder to be careful...I indeed had not noticed how one person is active in this area...But betonline was registered three days after onlinebet, thus I thought they could be still be used for a comparison...But, yes, maybe...

BTW please, stop showing me names of the whois that were updated on 30 Nov 2006 aound 7pm...they are truly killing me...

I believe that the whois updates on November 30th are domains that were probably transferred to that same registrar...I think they are all at the same registrar (Registrar:Gal Communication (CommuniGal) Ltd (418) )...either that or whoever first bought them didn't pay and they dropped again (like some of the LLL.mobi's did.) I do not believe that these names were available since September.

Sorry about that ... :hehe:

Thanks too, Kerri ... call it a New Year's "Wish List" (versus resolution, I guess), but I think it would be a really great thing for the entire domain industry to get absolute verification of reported domain name "sales", IMHO. I think this would really add a lot of legitimacy in the eyes of the public, IMHO.

You can see here that I was thinking of this at the turn of the Year ... :gl:

I would like to see ONE centralized and fully searchable database for ALL domain names sold (and that have all been verified sales as researched and audited (with going back in time) by an independent third-party, prestigious accounting firm)! :gl: :imho:

This is my hope for 2007!
Thanks for listening ... :)

Thread:
http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/275026-i-am-trying-find-site-lists.html

Of course, DNJ does an excellent job ... they report the sales that occur weekly from the different outlets. Again, for 2007 and beyond ... I'd like to see this taken one step further, IMHO ... centralized, searchable, and verified at the different sources (prior to that information being sent along to DNJ, for instance) by an independent (unrelated and non domain name-related) accounting firm! :gl:

Just me two sense ... and hopes for the New Year! :music:

Yes I agree with you on that one Jeff, I'm sure there's some "trading" going on to boost the domain market.

Righto, and this "trading" (and some of the resulting "sales") seem to occur more frequently, in my personal experience in domains (including the releases of .INFO's, .CO.IN's, IDN's, .TV's, etc.), in the initial H.Y.P.E. stages, IMHO. :talk:

Therefore, again, it would be really good to see verifiable "sales" in drawing real comp's (going back to the dialogue with fautebol above). :gl:
Thanks.

It will certainly hit $xx,xxx. I don't think that $20-30k is an unreasonable estimate at all at this point. :imho:

Thanks for the auction information, I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this one!

Have you ever heard of any domain sale price verified by an account firm? How about realestate or car sales, do you hear accounants verifying those on a regaular basis?

Through first hand experience, with more than one, "large, prestigeous" accounting firm in the UK - I wouldn't trust them to sit the right way on a toilet.

The most untrustworthy, deceiptful bunch of crooks I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I would rather be mugged by an 'honest' thief any day of the week....

Hey, I feel much better for that. Jeff, what's your normal rate for a therapy session?
