There are a lot of different parking programs, and a lot of people say some are better than others at generating revenue for certain types of domains. Unless i missed it, i havent seen a thread that consolidates all this info, though. So, with some help, id like to create a single post (ill edit this one as needed) to reflect which parking programs are the best for different types of domains. Id also like to list the types of domains a parking program does NOT accept.

Im thinking the lists should be sorted a couple different ways: By category (such as 'poker') and by parking program (such as 'fabulous').

*Edit: On DOMiNIC's advice, ive added a list based on keyword payouts, too.

Here's a few to get started and to show the format:
  • By Parking Program:

    • Sedo - International (non-english) domains, Poker, Typos.
      • Reported average clickthrough rate: X%
      • Portion of CPC revenue earned by affiliates: ??%

    • Fabulous - English domains, poker, high-traffic domains.
      • Does not allow: Trademark infringements.
      • Reported average clickthrough rate: ??%
      • Portion of CPC revenue earned by affiliates: ??%

    • GoldKey - International (non-english) domains, Food-related domains, Poker.
      • Reported average clickthrough rate: ??%
      • Portion of CPC revenue earned by affiliates: ??%
      • Warning: As of 2/6/06, GoldKey reportedly has bad customer service, and their earnings performance doesnt justify putting up with it.

    • Namedrive - Poker, Casino, Love, Marriage.
      • Reported average clickthrough rate: ??%
      • Portion of CPC revenue earned by affiliates: ??%

    • DomainSpa - ?
      • Reported average clickthrough rate: ??%
      • Portion of CPC revenue earned by affiliates: 50%

  • By Domain Category:
    • Poker - Fabulous, Sedo, Goldkey, Namedrive

  • By Highest Paying Keywords:
    • Sedo:
      • 1 - 3 USD:
        • Visa Card/Cards, CreditCard/Cards, Loan/Loans, Stock/Stocks, Wine/Wines, Poker, Gambling, Home Security, Chinese Exporters
      • .1 - .6 USD:
        • Bad Credit/Finances

The following is a list of countries whose traffic is NOT accepted by most parking programs (List from DomainSpa). This is mostly due to clickfraud (or more specifically, click conversion rate).

Great to see this thread again. Well done Monolith for keeping it up.

The Importance Of Monolith's thread, cannot be under estimated.

I had tried to start similar threads before but they died out quickly, which suprises me because for all the 'Jibber Jabber' on this forum about 'Develop Your Domains' I would estimate that 80% of domains registered by Name Pro members will never be developed.

This means they are 'Parked' and 'Parking' depends On ' Three Things.'

1. Traffic.

2. Clicks.

3. Click Rate.

Seeing as the 'Goal' of parking is to receive enough income to cover the domains registration each year, (and hopefully some profit), I consider the importance of these three aspects to be in reverse order.

If a domain received a 'Click Rate' of $2.00, (not unusual for Loan/CreditCard/Poker Domains) you would only need 4 Clicks a Year to earn the renewal fee. If this domain received a 'Click Through Conversion' of 20% this would be achieved with only 20 Views a Year!!! - That's 1.6 Views a Month!!!

However I have other domains that receive average traffic of 1,500 views a month but very very low click through conversion rates and very low click rates. This is due to the fact that they are either 'typos' or preying on the similarity of popular websites. When people land on my parking pages they immediately realize that they have reached my page in error, rarely click on my ads, and go back to search for the correct website.

I have Domains, such as HomeSecurityAdvice.com that has received only 20 views in the last six months, but has received 4 clicks ranging from $0.22 - $2.16. Total for six months - $6.97.

:$: Registration Fee Covered. :$: :)

However I have others such as HugeAdvantage.com that recieves about 200 views a month but has only produced one click of $0.06.

To conclude, I would rather have a 'Low Traffic Domain', with 'High Click Conversion' and 'High Click Rate', than a domain with 'High Traffic' and 'Low Conversion' and 'Click rate'.

However I would prefer domains with 'High Traffic, Conversion and Click Rates' but more importantly with 'High Offers!!!' :hehe:

Right. But I guess it's al up to the owner. If he cannot dvelop even a little minisite, then I guess parking will have to do. Plus if you make more money parking, then park it. It all depends on the situation and the domain, I guess.

It's funny to note that the majority of 'Premium Single Word' domains are parked or just developed for revenue producing links.

As Rick Schwartz said, "I like to build sites with limited content. In other words, I have mostly crappy sites! But even that is for a reason. I don’t want anyone sticking around on my sites. I want them off as quick as they came via a revenue producing link". Source DNjournal - http://www.dnjournal.com/columns/cover020204.htm

So for a typo domain, you'd recommend Sedo? 'cause I have one on there at the moment, and the click rate is ~3%.

~40-50 hits per day.

Parking

Just my two cents ( I'm kind of a newbie so you might want to ignore!)--

1) Fabulous -- the best, and I have no poker names. Best stats, best service, and now new landers. It is true that some do not perform there, and that leads to:
New lander -- check out CheapGolfDeals.com and Bar-T-Shirts.com

2) Skenzo -- some names that got zip at Fab, nice at Skenzo -- real estate, t-shirts, apparel, songs, computer related. Very good customer service, though not like Mike from Fab, and awesome themed parking pages on some names:
check out FutureTuition.com, VolatileMarkets.com, VacationRio.com

3) TrafficClub.com -- They use DS optimized, DS Generic, Google Adsense and Skenzo. You have the ability to adjust % directed to each.
