Lots of software out there but I am looking for referrals from people who have actually used this type of software. I don't mean the client side, I mean server side. Must also run under Redhat's enterprise server 3.0+. So far the Pmachine series looks to be the best for what I want.
I am going to set up a news site that you need to register to be able to post to(hopefully will cut down on spammers), but anyone can read. I want the post headers with a few words from the content to be displayed on the main webpage(need to be able to set the size of the excerpt as well as the number of articles displayed on the front page).
Also a sidebar with search, ad space(google etc) and a list with links to more of the subjects posted to. I am assuming that blog software would be the best for this versus a forum package.
Thanks
Update:
After a whole lot more looking I settled on EEngine. Thought I would mention it in case someone else wanted to set up a blog at some time in the future.
