Hi! Yesterday I bought two domains (variation of the same but didn't know which one is better) and today person contacted me for one of those domains (the one I thought was less valuable) saying that his (rich) client is interested in my domain and that I let him know the price.
First of all I don't know how to set a price. Domain is good in my experienced :P opinion because its generic (industry sector) If I remeber well it had over 22000 hits on adsense (exact match).
Second thing is that I started to compile list of potential buyers and I have around 40 by now. I don't know should I offer both domains or just one. And should I keep my interested party waiting untill I send them to see the response of other companies.
I don't know anything...This is my second purchase of domains and I didn't expect response in such short time...
Any and all advice is more than welcomed!
Thanks

First of all, that rich buyer is a scammer. There is no buyer. You can just ignore their emails. Or, if you want to see what happens, send them any price. After this they will ask for a paid appraisal from a reputable site they trust. Don't pay for appraisals.

Second, if you have similar domains and many end-users who could use them, send them both and let them choose.

Third, the price. You can open a thread in the appraisal section here, on Namepros, and people will help you appraising the domains for free.

thanks for advice. It did cross my mind that it's a scam...
I'll start sending mails to my potential buyers, maybe price defines itself.
thanks

for appraisal u can get free appraisal if u post for forums like this and people will do it for free and second this rich buyer send them any offer and if they ask for appraisal from their trusted site tell them no thnx or tell then they can pay for the appraisal and deduct from your payment. because these type of offers are usually scams

that was my plan regard the buyer. I've heard for those scams

I got emails like this when I started buying domains about a month ago. A month later I still get them.

What i want to know is how scammers figure out domain newbies. I remember getting this scam letters back in 2005 when i just started. After i reported couple of them that emails magically stopped coming. Do you think some domain register sites sell out newly registered people's (who just made a purchace) database to appraisal sites?

Everybody can get lists of newly-registered domains. Then it's a whois scraping and spamming job. That's how scammers do it.

I sent a reply that I just bought that domain and didn't plan to sell it so fast, but thanks for inquiry. There was no further communication ...
