domain BattlefieldHosting.com - ?

what's your opinion on the value of this domain? EA Games advertises battlefieldhosting.ea.com all over the place (inside battlefield vietnam - w/ no actual link) and there are hundreds of thousands of results for 'battlefield hosting' on Google, Yahoo, etc.

I think the only way you could get much for it is if EA wanted to buy it...I don't think that will happen.

Or if you become ambitious and start up an online server hosting service for the many Clans that play BF1942 and other FPS games (Quake, UT2004, ...). I know that some of the larger clans run their own servers.

If there was a way for you to "rent" out server-time to larger clans, you may be able to create a market for those people that are ready to out-grow their FPS roots and become competitors in the world-wide tournament scene for these types of games.

Undeveloped the site is worthless, but develop it and I believe you would get your money's worth out of it. I'd look into other <Insert Game Name here>Hosting.com domain registrations if you do decide to run with the clan server hosting services.

Thanks nightwind.. I originally bought this domain because I do host websites. I was going to move everything to a local colo facility and have my web servers, game servers, etc there.. but eventually realized i didnt want to deal with all the upfront costs, and effort.

If there were a good way to resell game server slots, etc. I'd probably give it a shot. But I don't know a ton about it, and I couldn't really find a good server 'control panel' for the customers either..
