Hi All,

This is one of my favorite domains that I own. 'Basta' means 'Enough' in both Spanish and Italian. I realize it's a .us, but if you combine the Spanish and Italian speaking US citizens, they probably exceed English-only speaking US citizens (plus, the .com, as well as ALL OTHER TLDs were taken when I regged it awhile ago!).

Another unique aspect of this name is that 'bastaus' is a German term, but I am not sure of the English translation (My German is quite rusty).

With all of the Spanish-language domains being sold for high $$$$, I thought it might be time to get some expert analysis of the domain here.

I thought it was quite a unique domain name and a good single-term domain, as well.

Good for a Spanish-Language or Italian-Language Blog, possibly.

What are your opinions?

There are lots of civil organisations in the US who would like to own this domain, IMHO.

Thanks Virgil--does that help give you any idea/opinion on the value of it? I tthought the same thing, which should make the domain 'desirable', but I guess my question is HOW desirable?

Spanish is a very rich language so enough in spanish means basta, alto(stop), suficiente, and also demasiado

I guess, technically it's: "It's Enough" in Spanish and "Enough" in Italian, however in my conversational Spanish we say 'basta' to mean 'enough'

Yes, Chronos! It is a rich language. I liked 'basta' because I thought it worked nicely as a domain and has an Italian translation, as well.

I could see 'basta.us' being used as a Blog, for 'Food' type domain, 'Online Shopping Site' Easily brandable and generic term etc.

Any other experts on 'Appraisals' since that is primarily why I began this thread for feedback on the value of this name.

Thanks for all your comments so far!

Forgot to mention--I will add REP for anyone who provides a decent/value explanation or appraisal!

Any other comments? 'basta' gets 9.8 Million results returned in Google. I would imagine the .com of this name to be worth in the low 6 figures.

I would appreciate a few more comments on value even if by PM!

I think the .US extension kills it because this is not a top spanish word, the only ones that would really work in USA market, in my opinion.

You're right, "basta" in spanish can only be translated as "it's enough", something you would say when you want someone to stop doing something. In italian the word might have a wider scope but italian domain market cant be compared to spanish.

With this in mind, I wouldnt say this name is highly brandable, so my appraisal is low to mid $XX resale value. If you could find someone very interested, and end user like an organization or something the value wouldnt be higher than low $XXX in my opinion.

Thanks pertsoda--Rep Added

I appreciate your explanation and opinion on this. The word is much more 'popular' and brandable in Italian, but who knows maybe the 'Italian Word' domain names will take off someday!

Thanks again--anyone else?
