BaseballForum.com is for sale
www.baseballforum.com

Facts & Stats:

Domain is PageRank 4, and currently ranks #1 in both Google and Yahoo for "Baseball Forum". It receives all traffic without any paid advertising or promotion. Current development included is a vBulletin forum and customized theme that you see on there now. Forum initially started at the beginning of the 2003 baseball season, but database was reset for the 2005 season.

Website/Domain had
3,538 unique visitors in July 2005,
3,103 visitors in June 2005,
3,098 visitors in May 2005,
3,978 visitors in April 2005,
3,037 visitors in March 2005,
3,537 visitors in February 2005,
3,238 visitors in January 2005,
3,203 visitors in December 2004,
1,837 visitors in November 2004,
2,150 visitors in October 2004,
2,436 visitors in September 2004.

As you can see, the site gets year-round traffic even during the off-season. The BaseballForum.com domain is a valuable property in itself, possibly among the best possible names for a baseball forum.

I am a 50% owner in this property and this website must be sold to disolve the partnership. Offers in the mid to high $xxxx range are being considered.

I will assist in moving the website to hosting of the new owner's choice. Please contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,

RJ

Hi RJ
Just posted for an appraisal of the site. Feel free to delete that if you choose. Was just going to pm you. Great minds think alike.

Does it come with the vBulletin license?

It's amazing it's been around so long, has so many visits and so many posts but only has 157 members.

Have you purged a bunch of members or if not why do you suppose this is?

Earlier this year when the site was being upgraded from vBulletin 2 to vBulletin 3, the databse was restarted. Members who joined in the 2003, or 2004 baseball seasons were not imported in. The high post count is largely a result of automated posts from baseball related news sites. The sales price is not based on current forum stats.

The traffic stats are from Cpanel and are genuine.

A couple of questions for you:

1. Does the other owner agree to the sale of the site? Is the other owner a member here. Can he/she post their agreement?

2. Is there any income?

3. How many mods/admins are there, and will they stay after the sale?

4. From what I can tell, the two bots have posted all but about 200 of the posts on the forum. Is that right, or am I missing something?

Yes, the second owner is Doc. (aka -OutlawBiker-, or Stocdoctor elsewhere) He has the second post in this thread.) There has been no attempt to monitize the site yet. The only admin on the forum is myself, and I'll remain a member. Yes, the bots have posted most of the threads you see listed in the forum stats. Including those. there are 39,000+ pages which will hopefully become more indexed in the SE's as time progresses.

There have been no major attempts by myself or Doc to develop or encourage the community or stimulate registrations beyond what you see there now. We've both been busy with other projects, and personal circumstances require Doc to have to sell this property.

We can consider offers for 50% ownership, where I stay on as the second partner, if anyone would like to develop the site further.

I hope the strength of the domain name, its traffic and the potential of this site is considered more than the forum member or post stats.

If you did still have 50% ownership of the forum, how much would it be to be your partner?

Wow I would kill to have this site, not literally ;)

This site/domain has so much potential its crazy, and with my baseball skills and knowledge I think I could turn this into the most popular site for baseball :tu:

It looks like most of the posts are automatically pulled from AP news reports. Does this function drive most of traffic?

Yes, we are firstmost trying to sell this site to a new owner, 100% in full. Offers for 50% would be considered secondarily.

Several offers have been received. We are adding a buy-it-now price of $4500.

No, I don't believe this has had an effect on traffic, as we had similar or higher number of visits before adding it, but it does raise the number of pages a visitor will view per visit. In July there were 9,189 pageviews, June 14,718 pageviews, and May 31,073 pageviews (see unique visitors in OP).

$2500 current high bid. Will be sold within 24 hours for best offer.

1. Does it come with the vBulletin license?
2. Do I also get the automated bot posting system if I buy the site?
3. Is the $2500 high bid for 100% of the site?
